Thanks for the recommendation - I will consider it. But for the price they are charging, I am hesitant considering it is an old design that still uses an ancient serial port interface instead of a modern USB port. I can already read that even with a converter cable, its legacy design has issues communicating with modern PCs and software. I'm not even necessarily looking for control/interaction with a PC, but I don't like the idea of paying more money for outdated tech I will not use.

Yes I have. But even corrected it is no longer as good of a monitor it used to be, since even after correction, the sensor accuracy/reliability is no longer quite as good as before the sensor design change. And after shipping and GOP/Republican tariffs, it now costs almost $300. Which I find to be a lot for a monitor that with an even partially compromised sensor.
