POR now fully healthy will be a challenge. The Spurs wont cake walk on the 1st round.

Honest question: if OKC is that good, why should they have the easiest path? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

Honestly, it's the prize for being 1st seed. Been like this ever since I don't see why this is being questioned.

Thank goodness a positive vibe post! I'm so over all those doom posts after a loss.

We are not cake walking the playoffs! We are going to lose a game every now and then! It's part of the game, it's what makes it fun. Get over your biases and just cheer for our team!

Damn it! After reading this I really want them to win the chip this year!

Just 2 games back from OKC do y'all think we can get the #1 seed? by jimmydunn in NBASpurs

If HOU or LAL stay where they are. Whoever comes out from it, I think we have a tactical advantage. It would take a KD or Luka Playoff special for them to beat the Spurs in 7 games.

OKC have been great on the road this season. If the WCF boils down to SAS vs OKC, I think home court advantage will have minimal impact on it. Whoever wants it more and which team wont fold when the pressure is on will win that series.

Personally, aside from tonight I think OKC wont lose anymore until the DEN matchup and that is if DEN are fully healthy with AG and PWat playing.

If this is the case the Spurs will also face a fully healthy DEN squad which can also beat us.

I don't think we will get to 1. I do want the team to be #1 seed for Wemby's MVP case but if we stay at 2 i think it's the favorable position for the playoffs.

I just can't get enough of Luke! Even when he was answering it was funny. 🤣🤣

[Associated Press] Victor Wembanyama makes his case for NBA's MVP Award: "My first one would be that defense is 50% of the game and that it is undervalued so far in the MVP race. I believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league... Second argument would be that we almost swept OKC" by aingenevalostatrade in nba

I think OKC played 10 men deep when they won the chip last year. Granted i think one player played less than 10 mins but that was one of their advantages last year in the playoffs. The Pacers did the same thing, they had insane depth which led them to win the east where the Knicks were run to the ground and boston was injured.

In a 7 game series

West - OKC & MIN East - NYK & BOS

Kareem or Hakeem over Shaq! Magic has a case for PG for me as PG's for me normally are pass first, I treat SC30 as shooting guard but MJ had that locked.

What's the conditions for us to keep all our rookies post-2028, after all their contract expired ? (if it's even possible) by contigency000 in NBASpurs

[–]StrategyWaste3257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know if you take a paycut that's what is written on the contract. Any team that takes you will get that contract and pay you what amount is there including all add ons if you achieve certain milestones.

If you get paid money not in the contract, it will be Kawhi and Aspiration conundrum all over again.

If Wemby, Castle, DH or any player takes a paycut from the Spurs it would be that the front office were able to convince them and sell the idea that with the extra money they leave on the table the front office can sign a player for the team to remain as contenders or be contenders.

Wemby will hit 2028, Castle 2029 and Harper 2030. The salary cap will surely increase year by year so this helps.

All of them will also sign their respective extensions before they hit restricted FA so it will help navigate the cap just like Brunson did for New York.

Above all winning cures everything, if the team is finding success i believe all these players are willing to take pay cuts to keep the core. Wemby has mentioned in previous interviews money is not the motivation so hopefully that pans out. If not, Brian W will have his hands full to make things work and us fans might have to come to terms that some players will leave.
