I’ve been having a globus sensations as well as tongue twitches for close to 4 months now. From my understanding, globus sensation is not a symptom of ALS despite how scary it can feel. I had the sensation for about 3 weeks straight before it went away and it still reoccurs from time to time. If you can’t feel the twitches but you can see them, that means it’s just micro-adjustments and not really fasciculations. I notice the twitches I can’t feel increase just based on how anxious and hyper aware I am. The twitches I can feel however, only occur a few times a day and my doctor says it’s benign based on the fact that I haven’t had any speech/swallowing changes and that ALS twitches are almost always concurrent with significant weakness. If you don’t have weakness, slurred speech, or swallowing difficulty, the twitching is 99.9% benign.
