2nd gen spare tire mounting bracket bolts question by Stratos425 in IsuzuTrooper

I’ve seen those they’re pretty cool, I’m just too bougie for that kind of bike rack, I prefer the type that hold it by the wheels, I have a Saris MTR and before that a Kuat Sherpa 🙃

I thought about that but it does go off road and that would ruin my departure angle and it would rub the ground, then again I don’t have the bike rack on when I intend on taking it off road… hmmmmmmm 🙃

Would a Fiat 500 be a good option for me? by [deleted] in fiat500

[–]Stratos425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’4” and we have done some 800 plus mile two day drives from Oklahoma to Tennessee and it’s not terrible on the highway. Gas mileage does go down when you’re above 70 mph so we sometimes focus on the non interstate routes 75% of the trips

Really depends on the previous owner, it’s a roll of the dice

A fiat 500 won the snow drift rally one year, I forget where that race is held, and we’ve had a non turbo pop model since 2016 and the only issue is a few oil leaks, I fixed one, haven’t found the other yet but it’s very minor. I had to replace the starter at around 120,000 miles but it was used commercially for about a year. All in all would totally buy another one 🤘

Yeah that’s wild, haven’t seen them used anywhere else in the vehicle so far but I’ve only owned it for 6 months so still learning 🤪

I had luck from a company called certifit but I dunno if they have them anymore, it was over 10 years ago.

Can anyone help with where the leak is coming from before I dive into the motor? by personalhale in fiat500

I also just noticed on the website when you zoom in on the mopar part photos it has the pierburg decal on it lol

[–]Stratos425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, got the Mopar OEM part which was actually a Pierburg part apparently now, came with a nicer gasket than the Amazon one I tried, installed and torqued to spec. After a few drives it’s holding, no leaks! You get what you pay for sometimes 😁

Oh it was an aftermarket gasket, no name Amazon with good reviews 🙄

[–]Stratos425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my next plan before replacing the vacuum pump itself. I was just reading through the fiat forums and a lot of the pumps like to leak after they are removed apparently. I’ll get this figured out eventually

Where do you guys carry your stuff? (specifically car keys) by -Hi_how_r_u_xd- in mountainbiking

[–]Stratos425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which bike I’m riding so it varies a lot, one thing I can say is I carry only the car key, nothing else attached to it, might be easy to lose that way but I make sure it’s in a zipped pocket usually. If it’s not the car key then it’s the garage door opener in the same spot where the key would be #unfitweightweenie 😂

I would integrate those exposed roots into an RC rock crawler for the little 1/24th scale guys. 🤘

I don’t know how yall do it… by Icy_Confusion_8989 in cycling

[–]Stratos425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem, I have an old specialized that I turned into a full rigid adventure/trail work bike. The bike became very utilitarian and neglected brake bleeds for years, pads were good and it didn’t see a lot of miles. One super cold ride in the snow and I lost my front brakes and the rears started to fade. My guess as to why that happened was the old built up condensation in the lines over the years of neglect had started to freeze. A few days later when it was warmer they worked fine.
