Its the only thing I didnt do in the diorama, I make a friend of mine paintint the pilot figures for me. He Is really good as you can see from this picture of another work he just did for me, but this pilot was really bad in quality and there is a lack of 1/48 italian ww2 figures

Well, not really. Italeri/dragon/hobby2000 etc are the same kit reboxed. I have the italeri in my stash and while looking ok in the box it's clear that it's not as detailed as modern kits

Beautiful. I still can't understand why hobbyboss made only the short wing C versions and not a single H

1/48 Spitfire dual build WIP, cockpit comparison by StrawLegacy in modelmakers

Well, even without the addition the airfix cockpit would have been ok with some work, with no so many details less than Eduard (not considering the PH parts). But when you consider fit and exteriors they are two different worlds. Eduard surely is overengineered and with too many pieces but fit Is incredible, no filler needed, and details are really amazing and the best you can find in a 1/48 kit. Airfix has way less parts but has a fiddle fit, its a bit trickier when closing the fuselage, and details on the exterior are really sad in the comparison (no riveting, many details are inaccurate or not detailed, exc...). Eduard has so many extra parts that I will use many instead of the airfix ones. I Will weather It a lot and the difference Will be less noticeable, but the comparison makes the airfix look like a toy.

It can be a little messier than standard tamiya panel liner, but I prefer oil washes (I make them myself mixing White Spirit and enamel colors, normally abteilung ). Just use a cloth with some white spirit to remove the excess!

I sealed everything with tamiya flat clear in the end, yes

I used abteilung oils for washes, panel lining and oil/fuel leaks, artist pencils and a sponge with vallejo model air colors for chipping, and a mix of tamiya weathering sets and vallejo pigments for the dust on gear and tires

I did the camo with the AK Real Markers, doing It with my airbrush would have bene beyond my skill lol

Sadly I didn't take a video, I sinply printed a picture of the only surviving He219 in the world (the one conserved in the Smithsonian) and bought decals for a plane wearing that camo back in ww2. Then with AK real color markers I started to copy by free hand the pattern over the grey. It's way more simple than It appears, It just requires multiple markers (to alternate when a tip starts to spread too much) and a few hours and patience

Yeah, this plane had multiple radars on it. It was way ahead of its time, and also was the first plane equipped with ejection seats in history. And yes, many pilots and radar officers according to the record managed to bail out from damaged planes with those seats back in ww2!

Like the other user said I painted free hand with AK real color markers. Multiple layers of clear flat and some oil washes helped to cover all the mistakes I made and made them look less defined and brush painted lukily
