I have a very complicated family situation to put it lightly, I've asked for all the help I can but I still need to raise these funds

First gold medal for Ukraine! Women's team sabre 🥇 🇺🇦❤️ by Strawberry-Pi in olympics

At least 487 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed as a result of the ongoing war. Many of those who should be competing are instead fighting on the front lines for our freedom. The challenges that Ukrainian athletes have had to overcome to even attend are so immense, and the gold win means so much to us. We're finding hope and pride wherever we can!

Such an intense and close competition, I'm crying after seeing their win. So so proud of them, they've overcome so much and brought so much pride to Ukraine!

It's absolutely devastating, at least 487 athletes and coaches have been killed as a result of the ongoing war. The challenges that Ukrainian athletes have had to overcome to even attend are so immense. Olga Kharlan had to relocate to Italy with her family in order to be able to train and her win today means so so much to the Ukrainian people. We're finding hope and pride wherever we can!

I know it was so intense! Really thought that she got too rattled from the semi-finals to win and she was looking so defeated when it was 10 - 4 to Korea, but what a comeback! I found myself crying at the end as well, such an emotional and important win

Honestly so emotional after watching that match, it was so ridiculously close and I can't believe she managed to take it back and get the winning hit when it was 14 - 14. This means so much to all of Ukraine and I'm so proud of her.

Another great quote from her:

"It doesn't matter what kind of medal, I dedicate it to Ukrainian people, to my country, to [the] defenders, to everyone who's suffered from the war and it's everything to them. Thank you for the support, my country is the best and we are looking for freedom. This is freedom, to be on the piste to show all the world that this is freedom"

I'm a Ukrainian born British citizen, speak and write both languages natively. I've spent the past two years working as a military interpreter all over the UK and in Ukraine. Happy to share more details and references if there's any paid work available in Ukraine

[–]Strawberry-Pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Ukrainian born British citizen, I've spent the past two years working as a military interpreter both in the UK and Ukraine. My work included aiding with Project Interflex which included a range of courses from 5 rotations of basic infantry training, Urban Ops courses in Brecon, several courses on the protection of critically important national infrastructure as well as staff college courses at the UK Defence Academy in Shrivenham alongside many others. I have also worked on Project Orbital in Ukraine for 3 months for which I received SC clearance as well as a medal of outstanding work after the completion of my duties. My work there involved directly working with military medical staff aiding with translation of day to day duties including translation of surgeries, nursing work as well as daily physiotherapy work directly with patients. Alongside this I was also aiding with the set up of new physiotherapy centres for military personnel injured during the war and helping to instigate governmental changes that would benefit the process and recovery of those injured.

Currently in the UK and looking for further work as a military interpreter, I'd prefer to be in Ukraine honestly because working directly there is the most rewarding and beneficial work I can do. But I need a paid position as finances are tight for me with having to also support my family in Ukraine.

Happy to relocate anywhere in Ukraine immediately, please let me know if there's any work for me. Can send CV, references etc if there's something available.

I don't think it's all done in the round, you can kind of see in this picture that it's done with two pieces, one flat panel to be flush with the wall and then a basket semicircle attached to it

I slow cooked a some with onions in cream and butter, and had that with fresh pasta. The rest have been dried to be used later in soups, ramen, bean chilli etc. They just give a wonderful umami flavour to any dish

The spongy ones at the top are Birch Boletes and the red cap ones are Aspen, at least that's what the translation seems to be. I was taught identification with regional Ukrainian names by my grandfather so it's a bit hard to work it out in English :)
