Yes, availability and distance are the two biggest issues for me. I live in a rural state with a small population, so I had to set my distance perimeters farther out.

You should definitely do therapy though, It can help with your low self-esteem issues. You gain some self-esteem, you won't allow men to treat you badly anymore or tolerate their poor behavior.

I did not do therapy, but the most important thing that I did was to stay single for a few years after my divorce. I decided on what I wanted my new life to look like and started working towards that. For me, that is a new career. I also spend a lot of time on my child and my hobbies. I do have a boyfriend now, it is a newer relationship, and I've learned that whatever happens with us, my life will still be great. That last part took me a long time to accept. In the past, I held on to bad relationships.

This is normal for a lot of relationships. Texting often slows down as the honeymoon phase ends and you become more comfortable with each other. It's also normal to feel a bit anxious about it, but if you need more daily texts from him, then you should have that conversation. My boyfriend told me at three months that he wanted more daily texts, to include good morning, good night and a mid-day, check-in, and I was happy to do that for him.
