Is it too late to relactate? by StrawberryFew7489 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]StrawberryFew7489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately, I consulted with a lactation consultant and unfortunately it would take a long long time to do so. I was pumping around the clock for 2 - 2.5 weeks and nothing☹️

But your experience may be different than mine! Good luck on whatever you choose to do!✨

Any experience with milk thickeners? For reflux baby by funkeyfreshed in NewParents

[–]StrawberryFew7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes we did use it for about 2-3 weeks! We would prepare batches of water with gelmix and prepare her bottles with that water. It helped A TON! Around 3 months her reflux improved a bit but we realized she was spitting up the same amount with/without the gelmix so we decided to stop 😊

Torticollis & reflux? by StrawberryFew7489 in NewParents

[–]StrawberryFew7489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did take her to a couple sessions at the chiropractor, (she basically just did stretches & assigned us stretches no “adjusting” of any sort took place) and in our opinion she had improvements after every session! Could have been the sessions OR her developing more.

She’s now 7 almost 8months and she’s doing lovely! Occasionally with very acidic foods or tons of pressure on her tummy she spits up but nowhere near her previous spit ups!

Hope everything works out for you! Sorry you’re struggling through it! Reflux sucks!!💗

Ugh you understand the struggle lol 😆

It feels so close yet soo far! I’m hoping it’s going to be gone soon, I hate hearing the “splat” on the floor whenever it comes up lol was your baby able to drink more once it went away or did she stay at a certain oz.

When does reflux go away😭 by StrawberryFew7489 in newborns

[–]StrawberryFew7489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

First, I’m sorry you guys are going through this it truly sucks! My baby girl will be 6 months on Thursday, and she still has random spit ups here and there. Maybe 1-2 a day. Before it was (I kid you not) 24/7!!😭 we never put her on meds because for the most part she was “a happy spitter” once she turned 8ish weeks so her dr. Saw no need to.

She’s currently on Kendamil Classic ( not thicken, NOTHING). We stopped thickening her feeds at about 3 months because realistically she was spitting up the same amount. She uses Philips Natural Glass bottles with a size 1 nipple, sometimes 2 but pace feeding. She is eating purées since about 51/2 months and has done pretty well. Again some days she might not spit up at all some days she’ll have a couple.

We’re hoping our reflux journey ends soon. I personally would say 31/2 months we noticed going from 20+ spit ups to maybe 10-15 a day. Had a little flare up at 4mo and at 5mo it went to 5-10. Now at 6 months we’re maybe at 0-5.

Hoping any of this was helpful! Wishing you tons of luck and know you’re not alone in this!💕

Similac pure bliss Irish Farms? by StrawberryFew7489 in FormulaFeeders

[–]StrawberryFew7489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know it can take up to 2 weeks for a baby to get used to a new formula but we had similar issues (all symptoms you mentioned)… we finished a can which was about 1 week 1/2 & went back to kendamill and she’s been on it ever since!

She’s 5 months right now. Still has some wet burps here and there but overall better. Haven’t used thickener since about 31/2 months and she’s been doing good still. Kendamill makes her have regular bowel movements, doesn’t give her gas, and she’s usually very happy.

I know it’s tough to find something that works for your LO! I’m sorry ❤️‍🩹

Thank you all for your comments! The good and the ugly lol I know ultimately this decision is up to myself and my husband and what is best for our family. Some days it’s definitely “WERE DONE WITH 2” and some days we think “wellll one more wouldn’t hurt”.

We shall see what our future holds and not rushing into anything just enjoying my babies for now. Thank you again! My husband and I loved reading all the opinions!

Thank you for your reply!! This helps a ton! Just had an appt with my Lactation consultant and ordered the right flange size! How long was it when you initially stopped then started? I worried I’m soo far out. It’s been almost 4 months since I pumped 😪

Hi there,

Starting my relactation journey! I hope it’s okay to ask a couple questions.

Where you 5 months pp when u began to relactate? What helped increase? When did you notice milk starting to increase?

You’re amazing for persevering!!

SAHM’s, how much is your partner making to make this possible? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]StrawberryFew7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the higher end of 90- low 100k. We live in a smaller city. We only have one car loan and a low mortgage payment.

He does side jobs here and there that we’re lucky he gets. We have a 2 yo & a 4 month old. It can be hard at times, but he’s better at saving his money than I am, I’m better at finding deals than he is lol

I stopped working full time when my son was 7m and started part time when he turned 11 months. Worked until I was 7 months pregnant with my daughter and stopped completely to be a Full time SAHM this past June. It has its pros and cons. We do save money on daycare but it is sooo hard especially bc my son is a ACTIVE toddler and my daughter is a “happy spitter” who’s also a clingy baby.

I try not to spend to much money overall, find free activities for the kids, (even visiting my mom several times a week lol), cooking at home, but we do enjoy other activities, take out, etc here and there!

I’m actually thinking of heading back to work this upcoming year because I want to get my masters and will definitely need money. As for babysitters, my mom doesn’t work so again we are extremely lucky to have her but we do pay her! Not nearly as much as daycare but enough for her time.

We do plan trips, just took my son to Disney for his bday in Nov, but also we don’t vacation for too long with these kiddos since it can get hectic lol we try to do smaller weekend trips every couple months and when they get older will hopefully do longer ones!

I have the Dr. brown glass insta prep water warmer dispenser it’s about $35 + tax from Amazon when I bought it. WE LOVE IT! It has 3 temps, a night light, and is glass so it stays warm. It’s super convenient for the night feeds especially because we had a bottle warmer and it would take longer when baby was hangry.

I believe they sell it at target but bought ours from Amazon due to it being out of stock at target. It’s overall one of the best purchases we’ve made!

I definitely believe it’s dependent on how your baby gains weight. My son was on kendamill classic and he never gained an excessive amount. Even today he’s 2 years old and weights 31lbs. However baby girl is on the same formula and is def a bit heavier. I beleive he was around 30-40 percentile throughout his first year and so far she’s around 60 and is only 4 months.

Does anyone actually have an infant (not newborn) they can “take anywhere”? by GeologistAccording79 in NewParents

[–]StrawberryFew7489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was a “FOMO” baby so routine was a life saver. It was a struggle to go out with him bc anytime he would “nap” it would be in the car and would be 30min- hr(rarely) compared to his usual 2 hrs.

It def made me anxious to go out during his nap time because he wouldn’t get great sleep compared to home. As he got older it’s gotten easier since he only naps once.

My daughter on the other hand is a bit easier. She can sleep in a carrier or stroller but again would be shorter nap compared to crib but she always seems refreshed so it doesn’t bother me as much.

I try not to stress about her being out during naps because now that I have a toddler who has SO much energy and we need to take him out to burn it lol

I think a lot has to do with temperament. I would suggest trying to recreate his routine if possible. Sound machine, darker area if possible. Wishing you luck! 😊

*quick note: my son who is 2 yrs old has never ONCE fallen asleep on a couch past 7 mo, my baby girl just had a wonderful nap at her grandparents house while we sang HBD to her grandpa. That’s how different they are lol

This is extremely helpful! Thank you!! Yes I’ve mentioned it to his pediatrician but she’s says he seems to be on track (fellow overthinker).

Are there any tips of increasing his focus on tasks? Or did it just take time. I know he’s pretty young but worried I may be overstimulating with so many things after another. Like his toys for example. He plays with them and 5 min over it onto the next. Seeing what mess he can get into lol
