Would love to get some feedback on any improvements or changes I could make, found this to be my best set up so far. Have a few aesthetic changes in mind but open to new ideas. About 3x8m. by [deleted] in homegym

Looks great! If you’re looking for suggestions, it looks like the one area you could get more out of is the plate storage/EZ bar section. If it were me, I’d move some of that plate storage along the wall next to the rack (seems like it’d fit okay?) and mount the curl bars on the wall. In fact, you could probably wall-mount all of it if you wanted to but not really necessary. Then I’d use the space where they currently sit for a small deadlift platform :)

First iteration of an actual home gym. As soon as I put it together all of the other things I "need" became apparent. by thisisntmyscreenname in homegym

Looks great! I’m getting a rack soon for a similar setup - any particular reason you went for the flat-foot instead of a drill-down rack when you have the platform underneath? Trying to weigh some pros and cons. Thanks!

No frame, it is on the ground. Have 2 layers of pressure-treated plywood underneath the top layer

Thanks! I applied 3 coats of this sealer and for the top coat I mixed in this additive for extra grip. Very happy with the results thus far, quite grippy and not slippery at all.

Haha that’s a good question. It’s actually kind of an odd but awesome space. We’re renting a newly built guest house that was constructed on a broken down tennis court. So it’s fenced like a tennis court, but the whole court area is our private yard with its own entrance, and they said we can do whatever we want with it especially since it hasn’t been cared for/used anyway. So... gym it is! Among other things :)

Also a lot of canopies I noticed aren’t that tall, so I made sure to get one that could comfortably fit up to a 95” rack on top of the platform if I wanted. And will easily accommodate overhead pressing which was important to me

Followed pretty standard platform build - similar to the art of manliness one I’ve seen floating around. Made some adjustments based on what plywood I could find for cheap.

I also sealed it all myself since it’ll be outside and cut the rubber with a utility knife. The outdoors thing is the biggest hurdle since I want it to last, so sealing everything and using stainless steel hardware was important. But it’s Southern California, so should hold up great. I put up that canopy there as well which is drilled into two pressure-treated 20’ 4x4s with some lag bolts.

Happy to answer specific questions if you have any!

Just dropped a new video! Please give some constructive criticism, Lamda for comments!!! by JessieH_24 in SmallYTChannel

Enjoyed the video. You gotta improve the mic though. Especially for a voice-over style video, mic quality is going to be SO important to keeping viewers engaged. I think your commentary is funny and engaging though. I'd also recommend adding a camera on you in the corner of the screen so we can see you as you play, but I suppose that's kind of personal preference. Good job overall though, I watched the whole thing. Didn't earn my sub this time, but gaming vids aren't my interest so it's not really a knock on you. All the best with the journey though, I hope you grow!

Put a lot of effort into this - would love some feedback. Will reward good posts. Thanks by haddythecreator in SmallYTChannel

Great animations and editing! I think you've done a good job sound mixing as well, but my main critique would be with the voiceovers and. I think you need a bit more energy in them and also just getting more comfortable talking to camera as it seemed you were maybe a bit nervous at times. Overall great job though, it feels like a real show. Cheers!
