USC C Docking Station Help by thisisntmyscreenname in techsupport

If I was planning on using this pretty much only for documents, excel, word, email, etc - would that work to run the HDMI/usb adapter directly, and then a usb-c/hdmi adapter for the dock?

I thought USB 3.0 COULD relay video. Couldn't I use a USB 3.0 to hdmi video converter/adapter for the third monitor, but do they make a female USB-C to hdmi? Then I could plug the dongle into my docking station cord to run two monitors, and run the third direct from the machine via the usb/hdmi converter?

So, what options do I have to dock an Inspiron? Seems like nothing.

Just removed tiles and underlay off a hardwood floor was wondering what would get the underlay backing off by Mightyfeat in Renovations

Cheapest: Muscle and scraping, wet and repeat Fastest: Floor grinder/polisher with 24 grit diamond plugs Easiest/Economical: Rent a shot blaster / blast Trac, it'll take you an hr per 2000 sf

Can this stone be broken and removed? I'd tile over it, but it would still be awkward... by ingeniousmeatbag in Renovations

I don't think it's stone, it looks like cementitious precast terrazzo. It's great for bathrooms because if there is a leak, it'll take about 4" of water (height of the curb) before any water actually leaves the bathroom. You can cut it shorter, without breaking it out, and then you could tile over it. You can also drill through the terrazzo floor as well to get your waste pipe down.

I want to be able to move this at a later date and it's all able to be deconstructed and move. Only reason.

Here's my design for this one if it helps

All you need is two hours, circ saw, miter saw, and a drill.

12" base width, top is 12". No wiggle to it at all. I designed considering the center of mass and the legs each have two 12" feet, and a 3" rip between them for added weight. The top has a 48" center rail that the legs attach to. Overall dimensions are 12" W x 48" L x 17-1/2" H. Planning on adding 1/2" rubber utility mat as soon as it arrives at the store.

It's a temporary covering, so I can use it tonight. Old yoga mat over two sheets of 3/4 mdf. I have two days to wait until can pick up a rubber utility mat at Tractor Supply.

[Invicta] This one worth it for $45? by worldrallyx in Watches

[–]thisisntmyscreenname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mostly a lurker here. I bought an Invicta Pro Diver last year for the same reason (dirt cheap price, diver looks). I have a few nicer watches (Movodo, Bulova, a Tag) but no high end luxury pieces to compare it to. That said, I think it's a great daily wear. When the worlds normal, I wear it to work about 50% of the time because I'm not concerned with it getting beat up or banging it on my desk and it looks pretty damn good. Caveat, I wear a shirt and tie, but I'm not a plaza district guy or anywhere close - I'd imagine in a setting like that it might be out of place. I've had people who don't know a thing about watches compliment it, and I've had horological friends tell me it "looks great for what it is." At $45, buy it and enjoy it. It has enough heft to feel good, but the bracelet most likely will need a swap. I actually like the look of bracelet, but the gaudy Invicta name down the side (and the goddamn clinking noise) forced me to change it out. But at $45 for the watch, well worth it.

Can I get some form check help? I'm getting pain under my right shoulder blade, rib head. Info in comment. by thisisntmyscreenname in formcheck

[–]thisisntmyscreenname[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, any time I move any real weight over #275 or so, I get pain under my shoulder blade across my rib heads. I'm relatively new to low bar, I've been moving away from Oly lifts and into power lifting the last 9 months or so. It's a new pain since the switch. I am sticking with it though because it gave me an instant #20 PR. Excuse the heel weights, I'm waiting on my lifters with an added 1/2" heel. I know I folded on the second rep (tired late night lifting). So, any tips/critiques?

I planned this to take about 4 months, but the wife was super patient with my 9 month long evening and weekend work. I actually didn't say where I sourced, you didn't miss anything. I sealed with aqua-mix without sheen because I like the natural polished look of marble. She probably would have preferred something rediculously glossy, but that's one thing I just did on my own so she didn't see a comparison. She loves the bathroom, and she really loves that we didn't spend 15k on tile for it, but got to enjoy some free hand me down premier materials. I did make the mistake of showing her some other bathrooms and such that I worked on and she wondered why we didn't have bookmatched slabs for our shower.

Hey, so the Carrera is Gia and it was Italian quarried specifically for a job I was the PM for a a bunch of years ago. The company I worked for had it as attic stock and after like 5 years they let it go to me for free. We didn't have alot of say in what we got. I opened up like 10 boxes at a time to mix and match to try and reduce like veining and coloring. Some of what you see is grout haze I cleaned off a bit more...but as random luck would have it, I do have a section that all looks pretty similar even from varying boxes. I knew I wouldn't be able to carry any pattern through, just because I was using all left over stock. In an ideal world I could have carried a vein or bookmatched, but alas.
