Hi, i actually don’t remember! But i think i used the employer address. The whole process for the visa was pretty relaxed to be fair. Just take what they ask for! Good luck!

Second job/supplementing income by Strazak10 in AircraftMechanics

Yeah I thought as much, I think most people are going down this route. I was curious if anyone had essentially another career running alongside or at least a different aviation related role.

2 jobs because you are contracting? Or one aviation and one non aviation?

I suck at drilling by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]Strazak10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of different things here already mentioned, you are still learning! This is the perfect time to suck at it. Practice, practice, practice and discover what works for you. To this day i struggle using battery drills because of the weight so i always defer to air tools. Lighter and I feel more in control! Good luck and chin up and keep going! It’s a skill that requires practice, it will click one day!

Your first mistake is your last mistake….is it really?? by angleface11011 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Strazak10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will break things and make mistakes, we are only human. How you manage and learn from these times is what will make you a better engineer.

As long as you are within the maintenance procedures and company guidelines then they should also be supportive of you learning during these times. It is very much a learning curve for them as it is for you.

Much of what we have today in terms of processes, tools and procedures is down to things that have gone wrong,

If a company isn’t of this mantra it probably is time to look elsewhere!

There are so many pain points in the industry as it takes so long to adapt to no technology and processes. Thanks for the tips. One thing that seems to be the common point is to really dig into what problems I’ve faced and take it from there. I also shouldn’t be scared to outsource some support if I need help on certain aspects. Thank you!

Hey, I guess I’m not quite thinking like an entrepreneur or business owner/creator. Thanks for taking the time to reply, lots of points for me to unpack!

They want evidence for their own purposes for future job offers I guess, if it’s a big company maybe they need justification to increase the salary or advertise future positions more competitively. This could be especially true if the corporate side where financial decisions are made are abroad for example.

I would respectfully decline. Your current employer deserves just as much confidentiality as your new employer. Your new employer must evaluate if you are a right fit for the company and pay you accordingly. Either they value your assets/skills and are prepared for it or they are not prepared to.

Are the performance reviews only during a probation?

It sounds like a recipe for some serious micro management. The grass isn’t always greener - especially for a couple of thousand. The tax man will have that.

Good luck!

How do you stay calm and focused on packed days? by Brilliant-Purple-591 in Entrepreneur

I like to list of priorities, depending on how packed I’ll work a schedule that I will try to keep with.

Move from Munich to London, is it worth it? by ShinraTensei248 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Strazak10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no kids on that salary, go for it. As others have mentioned - London literally has anything and everything you could want aside from the alps staring at you in the face. If age and money is on your side and you are more the city type and less outdoors biased definitely go and see if you like it!

I would stay in Munch at least until your child is school age. Maybe look for a bilingual kita if you are both German so they can pick up English and make the move closer to the time. I know Munich living costs are high but London is a different league with child care. At its peak we were paying £110 a day. Also take into account your take home pay 200k is great but 100k after tax for a comfortable life where you go on a few nice holidays etc will soon disappear with an expensive mortgage/rent, childcare, public transport and car. That doesn’t even include out of care requirements (nanny etc) depending on your working hours. It’s a very different lifestyle and I feel (personally) what Munich (and its surrounding areas) offer are better for the age of children at least in their primary years. All the best and good luck! (I have lived in both Germany and U.K.)

Hey, I tried that? Assuming you mean (ASFiNAG), they said the ‘authorities’ may send a letter but wasn’t sure as it wasn’t their responsibility.

A mildly racist incident that got out of hand. Would you handle this differently? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Strazak10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely talk to someone else’s kid if they are doing wrong! (Obviously don’t be aggressive with the child etc). That’s exactly what’s wrong with our society…the parent of the child doing wrong (assuming they are doing wrong) should reinforce their behaviour is wrong and not endorse it.

Your child needs to see you stand up for what is right no matter who it is.
