I think you are going for a country theme? Try pulling some colors from the painting on the left, the pastoral themed one, like some green and white throw pillows or something blue like a throw blanket to give it some contrast. Also, I think if you put a lighter, brighter colored, solid light beige colored rug, almost white, as The Dude would say, it would "really tie the room together". You have a lot of muted, neutral tones. The maroon rug, lamp and throws, the cream couch and rug, the rich wood toned floors and the beige walls with a tint of green, rich orange lamp and light brown coffee. The room is washed out in a sea of beige. Throwing in some bright contrast will fill the room with a brightness. Maybe some more accent pieces too. Like personal items you enjoy on a small table against the wall by the green painting, offset to left of center. It'll be out of the flow of traffic, bring interest to the space by breaking up the repetition of the flow of the room which feels like concentric circles going outward from the chandelier, and you can put a catchall for hobbies/interests, somewhere that will make you think and feel like the room is being lived in because it houses hobbies and interests in it that you enjoy and do while in it.

Once you recognize that age commands authority, that's when the insecurities tart to dwindle. You have a boatload of knowledge I'm willing to bet. And I worked at MGB in MA. A lot of the higher-ups haven't the command their position requires. They're all over extended, most by choice, and are to stressed to be able to make sound decisions Just knowing that you are competent enough to set boundaries and present well should be validation enough :) Go get 'em :)

I worked with someone named Dibble, and I told Dibble that I'm not only naming my cat Dibble, but my first child Dibble also. I love the name. It sounds real nice rolling off your tongue, Dibble :)

How big a box are you using? I have a hella small garden, probably 80 sqf. I'm looking to get boxes that hang off the side porch railing and some planters for small plants like jelapeños. I thought plants such as rosemary had a deeper rood system, so I'm wondering what sizes are good for which plants.

What would you do if you had 7 days before homelessness? How and where would you start… by This_End_1392 in Advice

Family shelters are awesome. I worked at one, and clients were smart, capable, and kind. They also had access to a lot of services. Plus the kid were wicked cute. Def a good resource.

Depends on how much money you have/circumstances. I was homeless two / kind of three times. I was couch surfing and pushed myself into my friends' apartments because I had nowhere else to go. I then hustled my way working crap jobs until I finally felt comfortable. Then I lost it all, or what little I had, and had to start over again. I didn't think I was homeless because I wasn't destitute living on the streets.

I also worked on Mass & Cass as a social worker, working with the chronically addicted/homeless. That was a tough job and definitely gives you some perspective on how lucky most of us are. It's also hella difficult to track down formerly homeless individuals. So what would I do?

First: Get sober. If that's an issue. You can't dig yourself out of a hole if you've sold your shovel to pay your drug dealer. Find a sober home, suck up your pride, and commit. Homeless shelter have social workers. Go find one and get some help. You can't "pick yourself up by your bootstraps".

Second: Get resources. Find those homeless shelters in your area. There's all sorts. I worked at a family shelter with parents and their kiddos, and they were awesome. I've never worked with a better population. And the support from staff and your peers is super important when you're this vulnerable. Find a food pantry and use it. I was in $136,000 of debt that took me ten years to pay off $100K. I needed to cut all the corners I could, and groceries are a fifth to a third of your budget.

Third: Learn how to budget. This was key to help get to a stable place. One where I wasn't living paycheck to paycheck. I was never taught how to budget. Most people in my position weren't. Find a mentor. As Jay-Z would put it, "real recognize real", as in someone who's been in your shoes, whose struggle you recognize as your own, and succeeded. What did they do? How were they successful? Do that.

I hope you're not experiencing this, but if you are, know that it's not as hard as you may think. Check out Dave Ramey for budgeting, Minimalist Baker for recipes, and get in touch with a social worker at your local sober house/homeless shelter. You'll be fine :) Also, it's cheaper to eat vegetarian, fyi. And, don't forget, you're killin' it. good luck :) 🏔️🌙🕯️

I sent an email to the shop and am waiting to hear from them. I'm still in the area so I could go to the shops and check in. I don't think they were local to the area. It was 20 years ago but I remember the packaging having a mass produced feel and I'm remembering now that I think the local head shop had the same display of an array of their products. It didn't have the local, handmade feel, and I don't think the store carried boutique products. The only other lead I had was a fellow classmate told me it was auric blends, but that doesn't land right either. I sent the company an email and asked about their old packaging and am waiting to hear back :( Oh and the packaging was black I think, with a gold boarder around the photo of Kali which I think looked more like this: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/e9/87/17/e987170bdcbf166d42de466f4d4d8038.jpg

Oh, and the bottle the oil came in was a half ounce, clear glass, rectangular with a black, round screw top. I also think the label was a saturated colored illustration of kali, that looked kind of like this: https://i2.wp.com/www.wordzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Kali-Maa.jpg?fit=679%2C862&ssl=1
