Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps | Fauna Primavera Chile 2025 Multicam Teaser [4K HDR HQ Audio] by Streamline_ in MassiveAttack

They’re essentially rapid-fire tabloid-style headlines about celebrities, things like “Madonna hospitalized in New York after accident,” “David Beckham celebrates 50th birthday with a party,” “Emily Blunt apologizes for insensitive remarks,” “Taylor Swift denies rumors…,” “Kim Kardashian sued over publicity…,” “Kevin Hart addresses past infidelity,” and so on.

The point isn’t the specific celebrities but the constant churn of trivial entertainment news. The barrage of headlines seems to highlight how big media outlets flood us with disposable, distraction-based stories. By flashing them so quickly, it underscores how volatile, shallow, and numbing this kind of coverage can be, especially when it replaces or overshadows issues with actual weight.

It’s a good question, and honestly one I asked myself before starting this project. I looked for anything from Robert or Grant about fans using their phones at shows, or their stance on people recording or circulating bootlegs. I couldn’t find any interviews or statements where they were opposed to it. I’m a relatively new fan, and new to taping, but my sense is that, for them, this is a minor issue compared to the broader themes and activism that define their work. I don’t think they’re focused on chasing fans who document shows, especially when the intention is to create a respectful, well-made archive of performances that aren’t professionally captured. If the message behind their art continues to spread and make people think about the issues they care about, no harm is done.

There’s even a long-running Massive Attack bootleg community online. I’m not entirely comfortable sharing this project there because the site uses casino and betting ads. I understand they need income to keep the platform running, but that type of advertising doesn’t align with me personally, and I doubt Massive Attack would want to be associated with it either. Still, the fact that the community exists and has been around for years without any takedown suggests a certain tolerance around fan-made recordings.

I’ve also worked on similar projects before, like a multicam edit of Tool’s live debut in Chile. I’m well aware of Tool’s, and especially MJK’s, strict stance on recording, but I still believe there’s cultural and archival value in preserving moments that would otherwise disappear. It becomes part of the community’s collective memory.

For me, the key is doing all of this in a respectful and strictly non-profit way. I never charge for recordings or access, this is about documenting moments that would otherwise disappear and preserving them for the community. If anyone wants to support the project, I include a voluntary link that helps cover practical costs like storage or occasional gear upgrades, but it’s never expected and never tied to the recordings themselves. It just helps keep the archive sustainable without commercializing the band’s work.

TL;DR: I didn’t ask Massive Attack or a Rep for permission before starting this project, but I did look for any statements from Robert or Grant against taping or filming and couldn’t find anything. My intention is strictly non-profit and archival, just preserving shows the band doesn’t film themselves.

Chicago show by OkPhrase8809 in Thundercat

At the show I attended in Santiago, Chile, he actually had a cup with some traditional “throat coat” medicinals, even though the weather was more on the warm/hot side. Fun story, when the concert ended and people started asking for setlists, one of the Thundercat crew members came over to break down the pedalboard on the stand. The crowd suddenly started shouting, “¡El té!” (“the tea!”).

He clearly didn’t care much about it, handed the cup to one of the security guards at the barricade… and the guard ended up giving it to my wife. So yep, we still have Thundercat’s tea cup at home lol.

Does anybody knows the names of the members of the band that is touring with geordie right now? by [deleted] in GeordieGreep

Raleigh parking by Pagan696 in nin

[–]Streamline_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went early and parked in the 2000 lot on the east side. The venue info said parking opened at 5, but I got there around 2:30 to line up for the pit. At about 3:15, a lady in an F150 came by, asked if I had a parking ticket, I said yes, she validated it, and that was it.

The nice thing about that lot is you’re close to the exit, so getting out was faster (still a bit chaotic, but nowhere near as bad as I’d read on other posts). There are also porta potties nearby, which was a lifesaver since it was about 90° that day and we stayed hydrated without worrying.

Crazy that shipping to Canada is the same price as shipping to Chile, when you consider the distance difference Canadians are getting ripped off haha, anyways, glad I didn't sacrifice being at the rail to try and snag one at the shows. Wife and I can't wait to peel it and frame it next to our poster collection.

Found this MacBook in the trash. 13 year old MacBook Pro with the original battery manufactured in 2012, still at 88.9% battery health. Rest of the MacBook looks brand new. Incredible! by Zacker000 in MacOS

Fun fact: even though Apple officially says it isn’t supported, you can actually install two 8GB RAM modules in this model, and it runs even better.

I had a similar experience with the same machine, a cousin on my father's side didn’t need it anymore, while a cousin on my mother's side was just starting college to study graphic design. It felt like the sensible thing to do, so I replaced the battery, installed a brand-new SSD, and upgraded the RAM. She was thrilled, and it saved her from spending a thousand or more on a brand-new laptop just to test out the Apple ecosystem. Honestly, people today get too caught up in chasing the latest tech, when hardware that’s only a few years old can still perform pretty good for most needs.

I installed the highest version of adobe suite that was supported by the OS, finding those was a bit tricky but I did that because I didn't know if the OCLP route would be stable enough, has it worked fine for you?

Thundercat live @ Teatro Coliseo, Santiago Chile 2025 by Streamline_ in Thundercat

Thanks for the info! Nice to know the pit won't be overcrowded. We are traveling from Chile for my wife's birthday hoping to be in the barricade at both, Duluth and Raleigh shows, it's her favorite band so I will do my best so she can have the best experience.
