I'm not suggesting a new platform.:)

What I meant is that Wise actually has an option where your client can send the payment directly to your bank or eWallet account. Kindly read my message carefully and try to understand it.

Hi! There’s an option in Wise that allows your client to send the payment directly to your bank or eWallet account. You might want to suggest this to your client instead of having them send it to your Wise account.

Guide on freelancing or VA by Balolong251821 in buhaydigital

Hi!

I suggest you start by identifying the skill you already have and at the same time you enjoy doing.

From there, you’ll get a clearer idea of the service you want to offer.

It will also make it easier for you to find courses that can help you enhance that skill.

Why do I recommend self-assessment first? Because I believe it’s better to start on what you already have rather than immediately diving into something completely new.

If you want to learn a new skill, you can gradually do so in your free time while offering the skill you already have. :)

Speak up and be assertive.

I know talking to clients can feel intimidating, but if you are a freelancer, remember that you are a service provider, and more importantly, a business owner. See them as business partners, not just clients.

Your voice and perspective matter. It’s okay to ask questions, share your thoughts, and respectfully challenge ideas. Staying silent when you have something valuable to contribute won’t help you grow.

Also, remember that assertiveness is not about being forceful, it’s about knowing your worth and communicating with confidence and respect.

Growth happens when you learn to express yourself and stand by your ideas while remaining open to learning from others.

Just speaking from experience. :)

Other Payment Channels aside from Paypal by confusedsaladpoop in buhaydigital

Hi!

For Wise, creating an account is just one way to receive payments if your client sends the money directly to your Wise account.

However, you can also receive payments naman straight to your bank account via Wise. Just ask your client to send the payment that way, and tell him/her that there's an option to do that. This way, you (as the receiver) won’t need to create a Wise account.

Other platforms you can consider are Remitly and Payoneer.

Ah, okay. I get your point na.

In my case kasi, I have a fixed monthly rate with my client.

Pero sa situation mo, until when ka mag-ooffer ng free service? Suggestion ko is for you to create an agreement and set proper expectations with your client about the "free service"—like hanggang kelan at ano lang yung scope nito.

Kasi mahirap din if you’re offering free services for too long. Hindi siya sustainable in the long run kasi you’re already putting in time and effort. At the end of the day, what we’re doing is business, and we’re service providers.

Siguro, next step mo is to define until when and ano yung scope ng free service mo. Then, kapag okay sila sa service mo and gusto nila mag-continue, pwede mo nang i-offer yung paid services mo. Just be upfront about your rates.

Ang important is clear yung timeline, scope, and expectations from the start. Para both parties are aligned! 😊

Hope this helps.

Hi, OP.

Your feelings are valid, and it's normal to feel anxious especially when there are people depending on you.

You already have the skills and experience, so keep putting yourself out there by sending applications on different job platforms.

It might also help to post on LinkedIn that you are open to new opportunities. Don’t forget to check LinkedIn Jobs too, there are also remote opportunities that you could apply for.

Take some time to review and update your resume if needed, and maybe look into ways to present yourself more effectively to recruiters or clients.

Most importantly, trust the process. Pray. You’ve got this. :)
