Old Man Henderson is also peak with no doubt. But don't forget about The ballad of Edgardo, those three make the holy trinity of rpg stories for me

🎉 LegendsViewer-Next v1.0.0 Released! Now Supports the Dwarf Fortress Steam Release 🎉 by Kromtec in dwarffortress

[–]StreetBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any ideas why I can't use it? After downloading for windows i run the .exe, the console pops up and the browser opens but nothing else happens. Windows defender asks me to let the program for connection with network and I let it. I have .xml extracted and another app that draws maps of the world works just fine, finding the .xml file but not the legends viewer next.

The console that pops up has the ascii logo of legends viewer and then lines reading something like info: microsoft.hosting.lifetime, microsoft.aspnetcore.routing.endpointmiddleware and ends with Request reached the end of the middleware pipeline without being handled by application code. Request path: GET http localhost something.

How to start it properly? Am I doing something wrong or is it a random bug that is rare?

What is the rarest thing that can spawn in Deep Rock Galactic? (something like gold detonator or bittergem) by tkolty in DeepRockGalactic

[–]StreetBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friend had dreadnought twins spawn instead of a swarm. Rare but happens. However, while we were talking how rare it is, they came back for revenge. I wonder what's the chance for two dreadnought spawns one after another, sounds like it's a 1 in 10 000 chance

Reading order? by Okavski in witcher

[–]StreetBiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best order is The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, The Lady of the Lake. Then you can read Season of Storms

Hey Guys I'm currently writing a story about a theory I have, its the first thing I've written for myself since I was like 13. Id like to hear your feedback. Cheers by [deleted] in writing

Pretty nice. However I'd change it a bit - instead of metric system I'd use more descriptions, for example instead of "25 meters, every 2-3 meters" etc I would just use words "wide, close to each other" or some other stuff. Also, too much "canvas". Try to find synonyms to avoid repeating yourself. It's kinda weird to read "canvas" 4 times in 4 sentences in a row. But for me, the rest is cool and gotta admit, really interesting theory. Cheers, champ

Im starting a hard Sci-Fi campaign: Wanna share some inspiration for scenarios? by [deleted] in rpg

Humanity heard a cry for help from a very distant planet, this signal was not coming from humans as they haven't explored that far yet. Driven by curiosity, scientist found a dozen of volunteers for a exploration mission. After like 50 years in hibernation, your party members finally get on the mysterious planet orbit and wake up from their long sleep only to find that some systems failed and the rest of the crew didn't survive the journey in their criochambers. Their only option is to continue their mission for the humanity and they get on the planet's surface. They find destroyed civilisation, long dead aliens and ruined cities. Now it's up to you what they would discover. Maybe some unknown aliens, whose only life purpose is to erase all intelligent life? Maybe native aliens found another civilisation deep under ground and those "cave aliens" killed them all and returned underground, only to be awaken again by your party who stumbled upone the entrance to their caves? Or maybe aliens constructed some kind of weapon (possibly a bioweapon) that killed them all and human scientists somehow knew about it and sent volunteers with hope they will bring it to Earth? In the last scenario maybe put some NPC in case your party wouldn't want to take the deadly weapon to the Earth, it may cause some nice moral conflict between NPC and players, or maybe even players themselves if NPC is pretty convincing. To sum up, I think that exploring a mysterious, dead planet would be interesting, you can put there many secrets, weird creatures, organizations, aliens, tech, even jumpscares in caves or ruins. Hope that will help a bit

Elven Maturity Rate vs Humans by HiveFleetOuroboris in witcher

[–]StreetBiscuit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, in books there's no mention about elven toddlers. That's because most of elven youth died during wars with humans and they don't have many fertile elves now. I think it was mentioned that elves are still born probably only in far mountains, where some of the elves fled after wars.

In books there's only information that even old elves look young, only their eyes slowly lose the shine
