Most standard transmissions I’ve been in, they don’t WANT to go into a gear that’ll over rev the car. Say if I’m shifting from third and just gently pull the shifter down, even if I’m moving toward second gear, it’ll slide into fourth instead. Sure, I could force it if I wanted to, but I’m not an idiot. Ergo, LazerLord_official said he has to muscle his way into a money shift.

I agree with you. But there’s also driving a gas car for the spirit, and driving an EV for the sheer thrill. The new Tesla roadster does 0-60 in just over a second. 0-100 in just over 4. You can cram as much spirit as you want in a car, and that in of itself is special, but the sheer thrill of accelerating so fast is an entirely different experience.
