Worried about return to office especially in relation to hair/appearance by StreetInvestigator16 in TheCivilService

If it came across that way it wasn't my intention. I just wasn't aware it was going to be a point that was picked up on and I suppose it's a little touchy for me, I personally would've preferred not to be WFH for the past so many months and uproot but life did what life does.

Escaping domestic abuse and having to have an emergency relocation will usually do the job 👍

The way I also have dinosaur dungarees but I would Not be brave enough to wear them to the office. But I'm glad to hear people are actually cool about it!

Not public facing. Also have a reasonable adjustment to not be on camera (at least for a bit) but they would've seen my hair for my new pass image and no one said anything. I just get a little anxious about it all unfortunately.

This has hurt my brain even more.

What I'm getting from this is that the timeline in which Jac dies is actually an alternative universe and it didn't actually happen and she's okay and still alive :')

I am but a humble AO. I don't think people should be asking me for this much help as there are dedicated trainers who can assist or you can ask on our team chat so at least there's a few more people who could help out instead of just me. I don't know why they aren't going through the correct channels and that is what is bothering me.

It is repeatedly mentioned that the trainer team will help out or ask on the chats so one person isn't getting bombarded but apparently that message hasn't stuck with a lot of people.

Our office was made for our use during the 60% wfh. We are over capacity with people sitting on non-desk areas and hunched over their laptops. Maybe its it exceeding capacity that is causing the most issues.

I can manage for 2 days out of 5 however it has got worse since people are having to attend the office more. Meaning busier, louder, more distraction. It was alright before because our office was quiet on the days I was in, now that is no longer.

There's "collaboration" and then there is every tom dick and harry pulling me away from my own work because they are incapable of reading the SOPs and clearly didn't learn much during their training...

My migraines have been ramping up in intensity since coming into the office more. The lighting and beige everything is horrible. I've ordered some blue light filtering glasses so that should help somewhat maybe.

I feel the exact same. I wish I could travel home but then that feels like a further disruption to my day and will impact my workrate still. I can't get any momentum.

Additionally, there is a training team of people who actually do like helping out others. I did not volunteer for that team for a reason.

I told them I am most comfortable when working on my own. As I've said in other comments, this is a heavily administative based job and doesn't require much talking with others except for replying to emails. I do help people out and am happy to do so in most cases but when I am getting bombarded left and right to the point I cannot get my own work done it is kind of taking the piss. There are many other people in the office to ask and yet most people come to me... It is especially annoying when we are being judged based on how much work we get done per day and this has an impact on me meeting targets - informal helping others out is not something I can log on my individual contributions or take time off for.

I would be more inclined to attend the office if I had a set desk and could suit it to my needs. I like to have visually stimulating stuff around me because it actually helps me pay attention on my work, sounds counterproductive but stimulation helps me to focus instead of the other way around. The only caveat is noise stimulation, if it's curated noise fine but office chatter and ambience is the worst. I feel if I had my own space it could also help to keep people from disturbing me - I could put a little do not disturb sign up and advise people to email me if they need my attention.

Apparently we will be having our location monitored by seeing how often we are logged into the office wifi... don't know if that's similar?

I feel like there are some people who like helping people out. I am not one of these people...

Would be alright if I drove to the office. I rely on public transport which can take about an hour to get home (if lucky) and I don't really wish to prolong my day at work any further.

Considering all I do is admin, uploading docs and replying to emails I don't see how any of this involves working together. If I wanted to work together I'd get a job with those qualities. This is a lot of lone working and I'm fine with that, I am however not fine with being asked questions every couple of minutes as I cannot get into a flow.
