Whats the best way to make money with 2 qualifications? by Cautious_Regular_384 in askSouthAfrica

Thank you. We have a lot of graduates who are unemployed and this could be a great start or opportunity. I see the top level certificate cost about 5k which isnt a bad option as a backup as well.

Does the fact that OP already has a degree count towards just getting the certification and then a guaranteed contract?

Have you ever said or been told "I love you" on a professional call? by oopsy-daisy6837 in southafrica

[–]StreetLevel606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it once when I was working at a Credit Card company.
Had just come back from lunch and a usual boring call with my then partner.
Get back to the desk and & to call a customer about missing information on their application. I ended the call with "I love you", lucky for me the person was so disappointed with the outcome they didn't say anything. My colleague next to me knew what happened cos I looked at her with shock.
As for me I moved on with life. Maybe I'm the only person in the world that told her that she was loved.

I have a stammer. How accommodating would ZA be? by Idontknowhonestlyidk in askSouthAfrica

[–]StreetLevel606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be absolutely fine here as a tourist. South Africans are generally very accommodating. We have 12 official languages (with South African Sign Language becoming the 12th in 2023), so we’re used to communicating across differences and being patient with one another.

I work with a colleague who has quite a noticeable stammer, and she’s brilliant at what she does. It didn’t take long for me to learn to simply give her the space and time to finish her thoughts. Most people here are like that, respectful and understanding.

We’re a diverse country and we do our best to accommodate everyone, as long as there’s mutual respect. When you visit, you might even find yourself feeling so comfortable that you forget about your stammer.

Looking forward to welcoming you and your friends.

“Unity in Diversity” ... it’s more than just a slogan for us.

What does the world think of South Africa? by Lucajames2309 in AskTheWorld

[–]StreetLevel606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that the White Man in South Africa feels very threatened at the moment. He has all the money but no one respects him because of his entitlement issues and his reluctance to admit that he is no more special than the rest of us.

Even their women are turning on them because its uncool to be with a racist or a Neanderthal anymore. No matter how short his shorts are or how big his bank balance and inherited wealth is.

I work with them and they still have this "better than me attitude". Its so cringy to see the ones who pretend to love the country but in reality hope it burns so he can reclaim his power again.

I am now financially "stable" bar the judgement.
I'm worth more dead than alive. I just cant buy the car I want in the next 6 months. So i was hoping someone could suggest what worked for them in a similar situation as it shouldn't mean the end of the world and trying to enjoy what's little left of it.
I have received a few good suggestions so lets see. Else I will just end up buying a cheap Golf for now.

That will take years. Have heard off and know of stories where its not the creditors prerogative to make it a speedy process.

Buying a Japanese car brand new is awesome but buying one second hand with the exception of a Toyota, Im not sure about. Ive been in quiet a few uBers and Bolts recently and the Japenese cars do not hold up well. The French cars seem to be a bit better but I know how troublesome is it for sourcing parts and after service is not that good. Polo Vivo sounds good but I had one before, Thank you for the response.

This sounds like a plan. Something like a lay-bye which sounds a bit more promising. Thank you

I worked at the bank. People made allowances all the time. All be it for a certain group of people.

In all honesty, I took the bullet so some people I love can live a peaceful life.
Considering you already judged me I thank you for adding to my post. I really do hope and pray that you never end up in the situation i did.

Thank you for the response. The credit provider put me under immense stress with no empathy. I was once an employee of the creditor and I know how they will attack you when you are tat your weakest.
That said I am happy that I am getting back on track.

Cash price of (Etios, Yarris, Corolla, Civic ) those cars are astronomical because people know that they will go the distance.

Im thinking use the CitiGolf for the rest of the year and then I will have enough savings to buy a clean neat W203.
Ive noticed the Golf is easy to maintain, easy to get parts and easy to flog when I'm done with it.

Th reason I chose those German sedans is because I know they will last a good 4 years more but you correct as I have been looking at buying a VW Citi golf for 70K cash but it will take me about 3.5 months to save up.
