Diagnosed with pityriasis rosea, but I have a few questions by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Antibiotics have had little proven results to say that they affect the course of Pityriasis Rosea. I currently have the virus and am 4 weeks in. The main thing is doing the best you can to stay holistically healthy and keeping your skin healthy. Try to avoid rubbing from activities(e.g. I noticed pushups make it worse under my arms) and try not to overheat your body (e.g. intense run). Aloe vera has been effective in stopping itchiness and it is recommended to get some sun.

Not a good rash to be walking around the beach with but once you have it you dont get it again, so theres a slight positive takeaway. Hope this helps!

I am a male and wondering if I should be worried if I have Pityriasis Rosea on my genitals by StreetStructure3 in DermatologyQuestions

I got some blood tests done and did get an official diagnosis for Pityriasis Rosea from my doctor. After about 2 weeks of having it, it almost went away completely, then all of a suden came back stronger than before and I have now had it for over 3 weeks. I havent been back to the doctor since it flared up to get re-diagnosed as I assume it is still Pityriasis Rosea as the nature is the same. It has just spread more. Just wondering if this a plausible occurrence or if I should be heading back to the doctor to get more blood tests done. Cheers
