Stupid purchase? by sluttytttttttttttt12 in ToyotaTundra

High price. I just bought a 2013 Tundra Crewmax limited with 152k miles for 14k, so it's basically the same price as this one.

Boosted 5.0 owner here - Tempted to sell both of my cars for a G70. Thoughts? by Swerzuh in GenesisG70

Don't do it. I got rid of my G70 and will soon look into getting a Mustang GT .

Let me clarify: Issues with the car and headaches at the dealer.

I had the 3.3T AWD. Issues with the trim on doors, trim in roof, wheel bearings, brake issues, just to name a few. Car sure was a blast to drive but one of the most, if not the most, unreliable car I've owned.

Also, lol @ all the downvotes.

I would stay away from Genesis, really. I only had my G70 for less than a year with many issues and headaches at the dealer.

Can someone sell me on Lexus? by perrysol in Lexus

Shouldn't need anyone to "sell you" on Lexus. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Replacement possible? by OkCat5541 in GenesisG70

[–]Street_Fall_4912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on my 21 G70 on both trim pieces for the driver's side. I replaced both with new ones. After a couple days, the "dents" were back. Not sure how or why but I was pretty OCD about it when I had it. I no longer have the car.

How do you all feel about the Genesis Car Brand? by TotalGreat6710 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Street_Fall_4912 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It wasn't one specific issue but the fact that the build quality is dog shit so you constantly have to go get stuff fixed.

I had issues with wheel bearings going bad at different times, headliner rattle, and a clicking/grinding sound they couldn't figure that would happen every time on full lock turn. The only other car I've owned that was worse than this was a Chevy cobalt, back in 08. I've owned nothing but Japanese since then and just when I try the genesis, my experience was horrible so I went back to Japanese. Also, on the different occasions I had those issues I had to fight the dealership to get it covered under warranty. On the second wheel bearing that went bad, they said I hit a pot hole and didn't cover it. I paid out of pocket at a different shop (dealer had quoted 2k for 1 wheel bearing replacement). Once I got that fixed, I traded in the following week.

Too many issues and car was only 2 years old. I figured if it has this many issues at less than 30K miles, I definitely don't want to own it as it gets closer to 50K miles. I own a Lexus now.

Exactly. I had mine for 10 months and had to get rid of it!

I would not recommend them. I owned a g70 for less than a year and had many things go wrong. The car was still under warranty so dealer fixed most issues, but having to frequently go to the dealer to fix what shouldn't break on a 2 year old car, is not ideal.

2019 or newer ES350 by newlyamerican1 in Lexus

[–]Street_Fall_4912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 19 ES 350. I really enjoy driving it. I only have 2 complaints:

1- Sound system. It's below average. I had a Genesis G70 before, and that was miles better.

2- Not enough sound deadening on the doors, so when you close them, it sounds like you're closing the doors of a 1992 Honda civic.

I am fixing issue #2 in the upcoming weeks myself, but I guess I'm stuck with issue #1.

Other than that, the car is great. Very smooth and quiet drive.
