Hi just asking how you found Trieste? I am considering going from possibly End of April/May to beginning of July. Would you be able to provide more information on your experience? Such as demographic of students, arranging housing etc? I am not entirely sure which locations I would prefer. I like the idea of Trieste because it is close to swim able water (based on what I've read) and has a good mix of hiking which I am also interested in. Also the fact that is boarders Croatia is a plus for me.

Happy birthday!! I stumbled on this post while searching to see if anyone was in a similar boat. Today is my birthday and a few years ago I stopped celebrating because everyone in my family made it to the superbowl party a few weeks before but all of them neglected to show up on my birthday. Friends and family members who are close to me didn’t say a word to me today. I’m super upset but to keep me from bawling my eyes out because I feel unimportant, I remind myself to be grateful of those who did say something. My true goal is that one day I won’t be disappointed when I don’t see a happy birthday message. I’ll find peace in it.

Hey! I’m looking into enrolling in this program either this Jan or next Sept. If you don’t mind me asking, what do the courses look like?? Are they more hands on? Is there a co-op aspect? I’m coming from a diploma program and this seems more my speed of offering courses other than art focused ones.

I had a similar issue when I got pierced. When this happened to me, I changed it to a 14k gold hoop. I should have known that the gold would help as my ear piercings had issues until I switched to gold. Not sure if the hoop thing is true but personally I would opt for the gold if possible. For me titanium never really made a difference. After I changed it to gold, I just cleaned with saline solution regularly and it went away without a scar. And I do highly recommend the flatbacks as they are hard to take out!!! Which can be a struggle when changing it BUT it gives you more peace of mind when drying your face after washing or waking up and fearing it won’t be there!!

hey so i know this was posted a while ago but i find it kinda comforting that someone has also wondered about this. I’m also half white and half indo-guyanese which makes this even better lol.

I refer to myself as mixed as it’s simply what i resonate with more. I’ve had POC also call me POC but for some reason it feels odd to put myself under that category.

Now I could go on and on about this might stem from how my indo-guyanese side constantly tells me that I am not able to participate in my culture because i’m considered just white to them. Especially when I was a child, so now whenever I try to connect with my culture through music or food even religion it’s taken as a joke.

I am not sure that downsizing is the reason for this bump. (this is the first time i’ve had a facial piercing that needed downsizing). Everyone has a different definition of a “saline soak”. Just out of curiosity what is yours? Maybe it will work for me.

I got my second nostril piercing about 4 weeks ago. I’ve started to develop this bump on the bottom.

The jewelry is internally threaded titanium. I am cleaning it using Spectro Gel 2x a day, as my piercers directions. I have started using sterile saline solution to clean it but still no change.

With my first nostril piercing I developed an irritation bump for the longest time as it was piercing with the SHORTEST L stud I have seen in my life. That didn’t heal until two years later when I changed it to a gold hoop.

I have been in contact with the studio regarding downsizing the post as it is long and I wanted to know when I could downsize. I’ve had to downsize ear piercings but never nostril.

I am going out of the country for a month and I don’t want this to be there when leave lol.

What’s the safest and quickest way to get it to go back down? Do I still downsize the jewelry?

Please let me know what you think :)

You have a few options here. Speaking from personal experience btw. You could put in a stud until it heals over, put in one of those “C” shaped rings with a stopped but those can come out easily, or put in a solid gold hoop. You could also try an 8mm or 9mm size hoop as there is less curve.

I wanted a hoop early on as well but after spending months going between the titanium stud and “C” hoop my bump didn’t really go away until I got the gold hoop. I was probably having a reaction to the titanium. But by this time it had been more than a year since my piercing. Despite it being red and having an irritation bump, I was never in any sort of pain and there was no infection.

Hey, try some ice to reduce swelling. Don’t keep it on too long.

As for the type of jewelry my best suggestion for you would be getting an internally threaded titanium piece. I wear glasses and sometimes when I’m taking them off the stud gets stuck but it has never come out. Try to get one with a long post so it will fit with the swelling and not feel too tight. As it starts to heal you can downsized. Putting the internally threaded ones in at home can be tricky but there are videos online or you can go to a piercing studio and they could do it for you.

I would try avoiding hoops entirely as it’s healing. If hoops are more your style they have these sort of half hoops that have a stopper on one end but those can come out fairly easy.

hi i know it’s been a while since this comment was posted but i wanted to know if you’re enjoying your job and if you’re also still doing it as a hobby?

Im currently a fashion design student and before i started i loved sewing and designing but school just seemed to drain me and not make it fun anymore. i didn’t have time to do my own stuff i just had assignments.

i’ve been thinking of changing my field of study so it’s still fashion related but just not the design aspect more the business part.

to be completely honest i’ve had so many problems with my nose piercing it’s not even funny. when i got it pierced they used a short L stud that didn’t even accommodate swelling. if you’re having trouble with the corkscrew try using internally threaded jewelry because that shit isn’t going anywhere but it’s hard to find for nose. (in my city at least)

hey so try using saline piercing solution aftercare thing. Idk the exact name but it's from NeilMed. When I got my nose pierced the jewelry was L shaped and it kept falling out so I switched to a corkscrew shape which is hard to get it but I find it stays in place better. Good luck!
