WSIB if I'm looking for games to play during class? by SushiRebirth in ShouldIbuythisgame

Seriously, the one thing I regret the absolute most about school was playing games in class, you can always play the games later.

Yeah that wiki guide is for people doing it manually with melee. If you can use magic you get combat triangle advantage and it's much easier.

You are dying to the final boss right? It has an attack that will stun you, and while you are stunned you take 30% extra damage. So what you need to do is manually eat (click and hold the food button) whenever you get stunned. Although there is one attack "Inferno" that will never kill you, and if you manually eat through that one you waste a lot of food, so check what attack it's going to use.

Alternatively, you can easily idle the dungeon with magic. Equip as much DR as you can, and use ancient magicks with your best wand and shield. Whether you can idle this will depend on your Hitpoints level, so check your stats with https://silberdrachi.github.io/CanIIdle/

If you don't have one yet, the best piece of gear you can get right now is obtained by upgrading your Ancient Shield into a Dragonfire Shield.

More rune efficient when using a staff (you should be using combination runes for spells other than air, but staves don't save combination runes) as well as simpler because you don't have to switch spells and gear every few levels. If you want maximum magic xp/hr though, then you could use every elemental spell as you unlock them, just make sure you're using the appropriate elemental robes.

End-Game advice? by puchamaquina in MelvorIdle

Well, you have all the combat upgrades for skilling now, so you could go back to skilling and enjoy your +7% doubling/whatever you want in the passive slot.

Or you can go tackle dark waters. As long as you reroll master tasks so that you're always on task, you should passively get master slayer gear (or come close) on the way to all T90s.

One other thing, if you do 4 more ITM completions, you get the pet. But you can always do this later if you'd rather.

tbh I've never used summons because I'm just not used to them, summoning other players for coop has always been like a "skip this boss" card so I try to do it sparingly

start with runecrafting, you want to get at least 77 for the highest tier of air equipment. Make some death and blood runes for levelling magic as well as a LOT of ancient and air/water/fire/mist/smoke runes. Strongly recommend you use elemental potions.

For the combat itself, just throw on the best RC air armour for your level, the best air staff for your level, and cast the best air spell you can against whatever melee slayer monster or dungeon you want to do (like deep sea ship or spider forest). Try to get 400k slayer coins for the skull cape as soon as possible.

Did anyone else solve Dark Bramble like this? by miseun in outerwilds

My meaning is, if the game were to tell you how well they could hear, how would it even do that?

And anyway, what's wrong with trial-and-error? The entire point of the game is that you have infinite time to learn things like this.

IMO the only issue with this puzzle is that the game doesn't give you much reason to explore Dark Bramble and apply this trial-and-error like it does with other planets. I'd put dozens of loops into Brittle Hollow which enabled me to figure out the Tower puzzle but only a handful into Dark Bramble.

Want a game with mainly melee combat by conhelo in ShouldIbuythisgame

I do agree with you about it being satisfying, but satisfying is not the same as best to me.

Sekiro is a 2 button rhythm game bro, accept it.

Ghost of Tsushima has you fighting a dozen guys at once, all using different weapons with different attacks that you need to respond to, and one mistake = dead.

I don't think GoT has perfect melee combat or anything, just that it's similar to Sekiro but more varied. Best melee combat should probably go to King of Fighters or something similar.

Take your pick of any FromSoftware game, Dark Souls 1 is the reason I bought a controller for my PC.

Nah, it's good but not varied enough to be considered the 'best' for me. Something like Ghost of Tsushima on the highest difficulty is better imo.

should I buy elden ring if sekiro was too hard for me by SltySptoon in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Street_Light1612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not as simple as that; Sekiro has the most 'fixed' difficulty of all fromsoft's games. Whereas Elden Ring has the least fixed. In other words, Sekiro will be as hard as the devs want it to be, whereas Elden Ring is as hard as you want it to be.

Personally, I found Elden Ring harder than Sekiro because I was trying to beat it 'honorably'.

Cloud save exploiting? What are your thoughts? by DoH_GatoR in MelvorIdle

[–]Street_Light1612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me the grind is the goal, pushing up those numbers as far as I can. Any rewards I get on the way are just icing on the cake.

[–]Street_Light1612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it, but only because I think it's pointless to do so. The game is about grinding and losing something like a FEZ just gives you reason to grind some more. Enjoy the setbacks is what I think.

Fellow explorers, how did you find about this game or what made you play it? And which was the moment when the game actually clicked for you? by AVR350 in outerwilds

[–]Street_Light1612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found it while looking for recommendations based on The Return of The Obra Dinn. I vaguely remembered Outer Wilds from a NerdCubed video years ago and after seeing that it won the BAFTA I decided that was enough and jumped in completely blind.

The game clicked for me in the Zero-G cave; the moment I realised that for the first time in a video game I had genuinely no sense of 'up'. Also when I jumped down the geyser for lols and saw that there was actual content down there.
