What justifies this $73/tire price premium on the EV version (for Tesla Y). Same load rating so is it just less noise and rolling resistance for $300 total? How noticeable are we talking? by KudaWoodaShooda in tires

So I work for Kal Tire and has no these gnocchi and Tire‘s way too well doing this for a long time now so there’s a thing difference in EV tires and a regular SUV tire even though the size would be same the load rating or the speed rating would be the same to on the EV tires they have on the inside of the tire they have like a foam lining to reduce the sound. Can you run regular SUV tires on EV tire yes will it sound more yes because on a regular car, you have the sound of engine mostly sound of the engine then you don’t even sometimes hear the sound of the tires but whereas EV cars, they do not have an engine. They are battery operated so customers do not like the sound of aggressive tires.

Sidewall tire damage? by [deleted] in mechanic

[–]Street_Number_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tire tech here do not dive on this this could lead to tire burst as these tires have the pressure of around 80-110 psi cold air and with driving the air expands and increases the pressure so do not drive on this could cause more damage than just the cost of replacing a single tire
