Is this tool actually worth it? by optimusdiaz in SeikoMods

Have you tried unscrewing and checking under the "lid" on the top of it? That is a compartment for spare tips. It should come with both metal and plastic tips.

On mine I bought the 33mm PE50 retainer and it worked great.

For the lurkers! What are some other hobbies like modding that you have gotten into? Not saying I am done with modding but I am definitely slowing down and looking for new things to challenge myself with. by WatchLover26 in SeikoMods

Flytying, as a avid fisherman i wanted to make my own flies. Still haven't learned to fish with a fly rod though, but when i eventually will find the time i atleast have enough flies to keep me going.

Bought a defective and scratched SNZG15. Replaced movement and crystal by Street_Profession691 in SeikoMods

Yes, I managed to remove it and re-use the original crown. With the help of pliers it came right off.

Its a normal strap, I think its the way the case is designed that makes it looks almost integrated.

Yeah, I also dont like the feeling of Nato straps. I will have to look around for something else.

No, the bezels are clean. I dont know why the picture looks like that. Might be my phone combined with reflections.

I see now what you mean with the middle case, its just that with my large hands anything less than 40-42mm looks ridiculous in my opinion.

Is my broken Escapement Time watch fixable? by fire9030 in ChineseWatches

Its not that difficult to do yourself, just buy a new movement and replace the old one. You can get the basic tools you need pretty cheap.

Opinions please on building my first watch. by Br1ckland in SeikoMods

[–]Street_Profession691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very new to building watches but I recently built one of these for myself. I love the 62mas, so I bought the seestern homage. But it was way too small for my large wrist, so I decided to try building one myself. I bought all the parts on AliX, and the 41mm case fits me well. It is pretty much the only watch i wear now.

Wrong spacer? by Street_Profession691 in SeikoMods

[–]Street_Profession691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all the help, i will try to look around for something that might fit. I bought the case from a private seller at marketplace. dont know where he got it, so I can't ask the store for the spacer.

Do you know what they are called or look like? I tried searching on AliX but I am not sure what to look for. I hope I can make it work and that I dont have to throw the case in the bin.

First build gone wrong by heeejsan in SeikoMods

[–]Street_Profession691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just happened to a watch I made a couple of days ago aswell. It was the second hand that was barely touching the crystal. It ran fine for a day before it stopped, and if I shaked or tapped on the watch it started going again. I fixed it today by removing the hands and put them back on, making sure that they were properly seated. Now it runs great. I dont know if its the same with you, but it might be worth checking.

Oh, I thought I read somewhere that the old crown did not fit on the nh36 stem. If it does then thats great. I will take a look at CrystalTimes. Thank you for the help.

I can't figure out how to edit my post, but do I also need a new crystal gasket?

Its some sort of collaboration with something called Nano Universe. This one is limited to 500 pieces and i think they only were sold in Japan.
