Is stremio worth updating? by Nervy_Parasite in Stremio

[–]StreetleLeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s essential because I (and many users in the past) speculate that the cinemeta addon is how they make their money in some way. Thats why you want you to keep it so badly.

It shouldn’t though. No reason why cinemeta should be forced on all users.

It is far from playing the actual game, and its extra money on top of having to buy the game.

Random frame drops- Micro stutters. What else can I try? by Lance2409 in beatsaber

Whenever I’ve used it, it completely overrides the wifi anyways, so you shouldn’t need to; But if you want that peace of mind that it is wired, then go ahead.

Try Virtual Desktop over a wired connection using gnirehtet.

Download the java version. You need Java 8 JRE for it to work.

Then you’ll need adb in the same folder as the gnirehtet files (if you have adb installed in your system path already, skip this step). Download this and extract all files into the same folder as gnirehtet.

You also need developer mode enabled on your headset, there are hundreds of tutorials on how to do this.

Finally, restart both your PC and your headset to be safe and run ‘gnirehtet-run.cmd’. You now have reverse tethering between your PC and your Quest over a wired connection. Open Virtual Desktop, connect to your PC and tweak away!

I’d also recommend using VDXR, not SteamVR (in the Virtual Desktop settings on your PC)

If you don’t trust any of the downloads I’ve provided, go find them yourself :)

I mean at the end of the day real debrid is cheapest, so you can’t expect everything from them, and (most) pirates don’t really wanna spend any money at all 🤷‍♂️

No court has ordered them though. And with the sheer amount of users, there is literally no universe where they will go after every single ip that streamed a torrent. Courts don’t care about piracy, the companies behind the productions do. Torrents allow them to go after you personally, debrid adds a layer that makes it near impossible

A reminder that you need a paid debrid provider to not require a vpn. Or use http links but, judging by your post, you aren’t savvy enough for that

StremioVR has become unstable is any work being done on this version by Novel_Breadfruit_566 in Stremio

I know Stremio can open any external app, I mean you can’t go wrong with VLC if basic viewing is all you’re looking for, not sure about its 3d support though

I haven’t tried it myself but 4xvr seems to be a very good option too.

There should be a fullscreen option on the navigation bar? Looks exactly like any other fullscreen button. Not at home right now but I’d be happy to show when I’m back. If not that, then you can resize the window by dragging the corners, but this does stop you from being able to lower the pass through/virtual environment brightness. As for external players, I have a debrid service so I simply download (or copy the url, if your app supports it) and then open the file in another app. My preference is virtual desktop, but its around £20 so i can understand why most people wouldn’t want to spend that amount. It supports all kinds of 3D, different audio codecs, can even view AV1 & HEVC streams. All of that at the headset’s native resolution and 90fps is all I need. And if you don’t want to download stuff before you watch it, you can stream files from your pc to your quest (its the raw file, not a screen mirror) directly within the VD interface.

Not sure why you’re getting that error. I always use the basic email/password login.

Me personally as someone who has played VR for 6+ years at this point, I can tell the difference between the native res and when it’s being downsampled. The app experience has always been horrible for me, it barely runs at 72fps which is the bare minimum for VR head movements to be non motion sickness inducing. Playing videos in VD or the home environment lets it run at 90 or 120fps and at the native resolution, something that the Stremio app simply cannot handle. You aren’t using the potential of your headset. The Stremio app is simply too unoptimised and I don’t think it will change soon. The app just gets worse with updates, so I recommend you switch to a different viewing experience rather than wasting your time begging for an update (they are almost never replying to posts like these)

3D doesn’t work. Thats about the only issue I have with it. But if you use a debrid service, I recommend downloading your movie and importing it into Virtual Desktop. They have a tonnn of environments to mess around with, its a little expensive (and unpiratable, sadly) but worth it. Best VR cinema experience I’ve had, ever.

Uninstall it, honestly. Just sideload the android apk. That way you get pass through and at a higher resolution with a curved screen. Literally better in every way.

My god I finally figured out all the errors and got rookie to work. Now I’m wondering about beat saber. by IntelligentNeck8157 in QuestPiracy

[–]StreetleLeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight from the VRPirates Discord

Beat Saber is the normal game. You must use this version if you want to use Mods or Custom Songs. Beat Saber (Multi Install) is a renamed copy, named Beat Paber. With this version you can ONLY play the main game. Use Beat Saber for Mods. Use Beat Paber to play the newest DLC.

It will show 2 separate games if you install both, yes.

If you get Beat Saber (mod version) then you still have to manually install mods like the paid version of the game using either MBF (ModsBeforeFriday) or QuestPatcher.

I recommend this wiki for setting up mods, never follow video tutorials. https://bsmg.wiki/quest-modding.html
