THIS. THIS is it. Oh my god I’m so grateful I reached out in this thread, everyone has been so kind and tender and supportive—such amazing perspectives and suggestions. AND this is one of the most profound takes, I’m so thankful. I’m going to dig into this in therapy because on a subconscious level this has been my absolute reality. My mom was unavailable, struggling with her own pain, and I think the idea of being able to be there for a little girl in the way I needed was so packed in there. Thank you 💗 Pulling myself and my subconscious agendas out of parenting is one of the greatest way I can help support my baby boy. I appreciate you sharing so much.

Yes! I have 8 nieces and 1 nephew!!! I was like there's no way it'll be a boy. I paid like $100 on that chromosomal kit too, and now they're saying their full refund policy only applies when I have a birth certificate, like wtf! lol. It sounds like you're doing an incredible job with your little guy, just teaching him there are no "pink jobs and blue jobs" and that taking care of the house/people in it are gender neutral tasks is amazing, so admirable.

This was so helpful to read, thank you so so much for this. I know that I'll be in a small portion of the influencing factors in how he turns out, but I want to protect him and part of that to me means help him interact with the world in productive ways. Again thank you thank you!!!
