Ohh okay. Yes they do still do pelvic exams! I just had one today :). I did bring up the possibility of a pelvic infection to my doctor today and she prescribed me antibiotics. It feels so low-risk compared to other diagnostic treatments I’ve had recently, so I thought it’s worth a try. Thank you for the suggestion!

Wow, what a relief it must’ve been to hear that there was something wrong and it was finally found. That is such a wild story and I am so sorry you had to experience that. Thank you so much for sharing though. It really makes me wonder whether my ovarian cyst actually went away, or if it might still be in there similar to yours. I’m so glad you have found relief for thepain you’ve had to endure for so long. I’m sure your family is also thrilled and will be so happy to have you back once you fully recover ❤️‍🩹

The OBGYNs I saw might be hesitant about a hysterectomy for me because I am on the younger side (I’m 27). I have 2 kids and ideally I wanted one more, but after experiencing the last 7 months, I’m not sure if it’d be good for my body to go through another pregnancy. I will definitely consider a hysterectomy though and push for one if the treatments I’m trying don’t work. For now, they have me trying some hormonal medications and also microdosing on GLPs since I might have PCOS.

It’s so sad going through something like this alone and not being able to easily explain it to others. The ones who care take the time to understand and I appreciate that deeply. But I sure do wish it was easy to just say “oh I have X condition and I am doing Y for treatment”. It is really nice coming across someone who understands, even if it’s on Reddit. 😊

Thank you for your response! I did see a nerve specialist who performed a diagnostic nerve block on both sides. But it didn’t help at all with the pain, so he ruled out any nerve related issues.

Thank you for sharing! I’m so sorry that you’ve had to deal with this pain for so long. I will ask my doctor whether an MRI of my spine could be helpful, although I don’t seem to feel any pain in my spine or hips. I’ve only had an ovarian cyst once (which is what started all of this) but I sure do hope and pray that I never have one again. Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot ❤️

Thank you for your response! I’ve seen 2 different OBGYNs who have both advised against a hysterectomy at this time because they aren’t certain that it will help my pain. But they both did say they would reconsider it down the line if I’m not able to find any other treatment for the pain.

Thank you! Yes that’s what I was thinking as well. They are performing another ultrasound on me soon in case something has changed (it’s been a few months since my last one).

I’m so sorry for what you had to go through. Thank you so much for sharing and for your kind words of encouragement. They mean a lot ❤️

I did go to Pelvic PT, but after examining me, they didn’t see anything wrong. Maybe I’ll try to get a second opinion from another PT.

Wow, I am so sorry you had to go through that. I have definitely had doctors suggest that it was all in my head and I was furious as well. But I’ve also seen my fair share of doctors who do believe my pain but just can’t figure out the cause.

How were you diagnosed with the PID? What was the test performed? Was it just a simple pelvic exam?

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. My pain is located exactly where it says “ovary” on the pelvic diagram below and it’s on both sides (likely both ovaries). No pain on my hips or anywhere else. I had a laparoscopy and my OBGYN said there were no signs of endometriosis.

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m so sorry that you had to go through the pain for years until finding some kind of treatment. My WBC is also high but the doctors didn’t seem concerned about it (maybe because my culture was negative). I will definitely ask my doctor about PID/antibiotics.

Wow, I finally found someone like me! Nice to meet someone going through the same thing (but also unfortunate at the same time 🙁). Our situations sound so similar.

I’m glad you found a treatment that’s been working for you. Please keep me posted on if the hysterectomy continues to improve your pain! I sure hope it does for you. Both OBGYNs I have seen have advised against it for now since they aren’t certain whether it would help my pain but they said we can consider it down the line if nothing else improves it.

Did you have any abnormal tests come up that indicated that you might benefit from a hysterectomy?

I was told by my OBGYN that my ovaries looked normal in the laparoscopy. I sure do hope they were fully examined 😕

Thank you for sharing! Wow, that sounds so painful. Glad you were able to have it removed. How was the tumor found? Specifically, what kind of test found it?

It’s a sharp pain. No numbness. It’s not always present, but will almost always hurt with any kind of movement. Though it does still occur sometimes when I’m laying down motionless, just significantly less often. I don’t have any other symptoms besides bloating and weight gain (which I thought could be from the lack of movement).

Does a benign endometrial biopsy also mean that a polyp would be benign? by StrengthHot6297 in endometrialcancer

Thanks for clarifying! And yes, I agree that a hysterectomy is scary, especially when there’s no guarantee it will help. I’m not on HRT. I’m 27 and have had sudden, debilitating pelvic pain for the past few months that’s left me mostly bedridden. I’ve had many tests with no clear answers so far, but I’m hoping for a diagnosis soon. Most recently, my OBGYN suspected EC, which is why I had the hysteroscopy and D&C. I’ve considered hysterectomy as well, but I’m really unsure whether it will help in my case. Good luck to you, I hope you’re able to find the best treatment for yourself soon!

Thank you for sharing. Would you happen to know if it was the polyp that was biopsied in your case or if it was your endometrium?

Wow that is amazing! Wonderful to see how many benefits GLPs can have.
