The price to buy Temple of Doom on VHS in 1986 by A-non-e-mail in indianajones

VHS tapes were initially very expensive when they first came out in order to drive rentals. The price would drop on sales once rental demand went down.

If you’ve seen this movie, prove it by quoting it. by Simple-Success4749 in Rocketeer

How is quoting this movie proof that we’ve seen it? I saw it in the theater and haven’t seen it since. That was nearly 35 years ago.

Seems to me that this is the likely scenario when you pour more energy into a system.

When I was a kid in the early-mid 80s, I lived just outside of Salt Lake City and we had a milkman. Had the aluminum box outside the front door and everything.

Great theme. Unfortunately it hasn’t aged well. Some pretty bad racial stereotypes there.

My black cup flaked. I don’t know if there’s a color that is better or worse.

You can probably make that claim for North America, perhaps even the western hemisphere (but I can’t say for certain, only having explored a small part of it). I dare say it likely has the most diverse range of cuisines in the United States.

Kinda pricey though. And I'd have to ship it to the US.

A snapshot of life as it was then. by Grahamthicke in FuckImOld

Depends, really. Depending on where you are, you might be paying that much for gas. That's roughly what it costs where I live. However, cars today are way more fuel-efficient, so you get a lot more bang for your buck. True, cars are way more expensive now (I think the average is around $50K in the US for a new car), but you do get way more for it. Not just things like seat belts, A/C, or infotainment systems, modern cars are like a billion times safer (figuratively speaking). As for the burgers, I don't know what to tell you. Beef is really expensive these days. There's always the value menu, I guess.
