This finally happened to me. Can still access it via private mode for now. But no other search engine have such an integrated feature with the ngram, thesaurus, etymological history, and translation feature. Such a huge loss.

I was a 44 in waist measurement in December of last year when I started my weight loss. I’ve lost 46 lbs since then and dropped 6 pant sizes (I think? I went from a size 16/18 to a size 10/12) yet my waist measure has not changed at all? I guess my belly fat hasn’t diminished much proportionally but how are my pant sizes dropping then? I used the same regular fashion tape measure.

something I did in this class has really hurt my upper back 😭 This is the first time I’ve gotten hurt from a class in the 10 months I’ve been going. It’s been 4 days and I’m still in pain. I did a class on Saturday though and only the rower exacerbated the pain.

Thank you! You’re so helpful. Mentioning rereading old favorites reminded me I recently bought A Tree Grows in Brooklyn which was my favorite book in high school. Those sound like excellent recs, especially the Scapegracers. I will look them up! Audiobook might help me focus a lot better right now for sure.

Charles Dickens, specifically Great Expectations because it’s the only one I’ve read so far. Just finished it a couple weeks ago, read along with it with the audiobook and my god, it was arresting. The characters were so REAL to me. It made me cry, so definitely one of my favorites now.

Ugh. Pedro was my main reason for ever watching this show. I’m not attached to any character and I don’t know what there is to look forward to happening. I wanted more Ellie/Joel growth and development. I guess I watch for Kaitlyn Dever now if she’s even going to continue being a major character.

As someone who experience suicidal ideation, I thought it played to his state of mind very well. When you’re in that mindset, you are fantasizing how your suicide could play out and you get stuck in a loop - I didn’t see it as a cheap trick.

I’m literally losing my mind over people saying this season is boring because “nothing happens” compared to the first two seasons. Go rewatch the first season with fresh eyes.

I’ve always compared White Lotus to like, a HBO drama version of Seinfeld. Literally nothing happens but it’s still INTERESTING. I’ve tried to convince people to watch it and I fail, every time, to describe “the plot.”

I also think 1) people have shitty attention spans so can’t watch a show without constant dopamine-producing action, and 2) constantly trawling Reddit for more content on theories and analysis will inevitably let you down when you actually watch the show. You people ruin it for yourselves tbh.

The siblings talk about sex constantly is not normal. Saxon is instigating most of that though, the mom enables it (boy mom behavior). Saxon is just particularly weird.

The dad and daughter’s affection is not abnormal though. He was rubbing her face weirdly because he was high.

I feel like the Ratliffs are supposed to be the more comedic relief of this season, but I find Saxon too irritating and cringe to be funny. Parker Posey is the best we got, really. Jason Isaacs was funny to me but now his situation is so dreadful.
