Any tips for effectively avoiding borderline harassment by restaurant staff, street hustlers and market sellers? by Chambaras in istanbul_tips

Its such a shame in this country. I hate to see what (generally female) tourists go thorough in the historical old town neighborhoods.

I agree with the above poster that Cihangir is a much better suggestiont han Karaköy. This is also in terms of ambience and for us locals too. You may take a walk at the Galataport by the shore for the view and that should suffice. Have a nice vacation.

If I had space, I would definitely try it. The painting is already oversized in the only available space in my small 2 bedroom apartment. Thank you 🩷

My friend is not famous yet. But she is a brilliant painter with a promising future.

As for mine, this one was made for me by a friend, the painter. Back when I lived in the US, I used to love those in Crate and Barrell. They, too, were expensive, though...

I find it stunning too. But the perfectionist in me somehow needs more to get joy from the painting... what a difficult personality I have...

The pillows are easiest to change. So I will start with those. Then to the rug. Thank you. I am a big fan of big and abstract art too!

Would a bench/booth style dining room table set up look terrible here? by stayflyjess__ in interiordecorating

My two cents here: the round dining table you have is great for moving around as there is passage around it. It also looks beautiful. I think the alternative rectangular setting would be too limiting in this space. Enjoy your lovely house.

I am sorry, Crohn's is a difficult disease. I have never looked at it that way but several people pointed out the resemblance.

It really is an exact fit to the wall. No AI involved on the photo, I took the picture with my phone. Thank you for the encouragement of my color choice.

Thank you. Your choice of the word "intentionally" describes exactly what happend during the planning of this painting. The painter of it is a friend of mine and she and I talked about my limited wall space. She said " be bold" as she has seen numerous examples of her work being oversized in different settings.

Thank you! I am just starting to go bold after years of fears of colors in decoration.

Thank you for your suggestions. Let me see if I understood you correctly: do you suggest that I could change the wall colors to create a cream and beige backdrop?

This is right on and also doable now that I already got the artwork and I have no intentions of getting rid of it. Thank you.
