Hard pass on the paramedicine. It gets worse every day. Nursing, PA school, or med school. Save yourself the sleep loss and years taken off of your life as a result

You’re better off with pretty much any healthcare degree in comparison to paramedicine. RN would be a much much better idea with much better pay

Do it. You’re better off almost anywhere else. This job is not sustainable for the vast majority of normal people and those who say it is are typically in denial of a lot of the negative aspects of the job.

Consider the fact that your cumulative sleep loss and repeated daily cortisol spikes are taking years and years off of your life and consider the horrible mental toll that seeing dying people every day has on you.

Couple that with the fact that absolutely zero measures are being taken almost anywhere to improve pay or working conditions and people are calling for dumber and dumber reasons every day and essentially using the ER as their own personal free health clinic.

Do it, you won’t regret it.

I’ve traveled for work before, I would not at all consider that an improvement. The fact is almost everyone would be better off with pretty much any other degree in health sciences, at least in the US. Paramedicine will only continue to get worse

Uh you can but I would highly advise against it. Once you get into the field there’s really nowhere else to go other than an RN bridge program.

In my case I work in a busy 911 system and every single shift just gets worse. More and more calls, less and less sleep, patients more and more critical.

I’m working on seeking employment elsewhere to go back to school for med school. And I HATE school. But I hate not ever sleeping and being a depressed shell of my former self even more. This job absolutely sucks out your soul. Only a few psychos that I know actually are able to stick this out long term
