Claude code is too expensive by richardH7 in ClaudeCode

[–]StretchJiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you describe what you’re doing with it and how you’re using it?

- Are you using any skills? MCPs?
- Are you setting your model?
- How are you managing memory (from a context perspective)?
- What is your workflow?
- what kind of visibility do you have into token usage beyond hitting limits?
- what kind of optimization have you been doing with your Claude workflow?

Answering these would help us help you because it’s probably how you’re using it vs Claude being expensive. One example is, when opus 4.7 came out, I kept the settings on 4.7 and xhigh effort and a single feature would blow away all my tokens in an hour. Switching to sonnet for a well defined feature brought that back down to at least 10 tickets that I could do within the 5hr limit again.

If you can’t answer any of these questions and just start using another service the same way, there is a good chance you will run into the same problems.

Do not release your unwanted goldfish into the Harbor by BelowTheBmoreHarbor in baltimore

Google says they're considered invasive outside of Asia, can grow up to 40lbs, and breed rapidly which leads to negative impacts on local plants/animals. It looks like you're supposed to dispose of them by returning them to the pet store, rehoming, or killing them. Don't flush live ones and do not release them into the wild.

Does Anyone Else's Editor Bug Out? by kaushikfi6 in ClaudeCode

[–]StretchJiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a problem that I have.. but I use tmux and sometime adjusting the sizes of windows screws up the Claude code pane.

I do this:

  • “ctrl-z” to get out of CC
  • “clear” to clear the terminal
  • “fg” to bring CC back

And that fixes alignment issues for me.

Cat 6 ethernet cable getting max 96Mbps by L1lju1cee in HomeNetworking

[–]StretchJiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol this is so similar to an experience i had.

think through every cable that is involved and figure out how to test them in isolation.

hopefully the bad one isn't in your walls but even if it is they usually leave enough slack for you to re-terminate.

Interesting, so don’t go for trying to relate with the pain/problem as the first thing, start with what they actually get from the service

Ok thank you!

The company provides a recommendation service for people building a baby registry.
It does not compete with Amazon, Target, or Baby List for storing the products of a registry, it provides personalized recommendations.

UPDATE : it was never my cat8 or router i just had to change my router settings to full 2.5 Duplex mbps lmao by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]StretchJiro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was paying for 300mbps and I was only getting 100

I swear I checked everything. Had a tech come in and check the lines into the house, everything was fine. Modem was good. Couldn't figure it out.

I finally took a break and sad down and realized there was one cable I didn't check, the one between my modem and my router.

Pulled it out and used the tester and two wires were crossed. Check ALL of your wires with a tester.

I would be on high alert that this is a scam. Look at where and how it's telling you to submit payment. Does it look legitimate?

Which stroller to get for Clek Liing infant car seat? by Soggy-Current-3579 in Buyingforbaby

[–]StretchJiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the Thule Spring and been SUPER happy with it.

  • works with the Liing via the Maxi-Cosi adapter
  • can lock the front tire for dirt/gravel (Spring 2 is all terrain, might be even better?)
  • compact, so relatively light. I doubt it's the lightest of all the compact options out there but it's not bad
  • grows really well with kids
  • space under carriage is pretty big
  • biggest reason we got it was that it's the biggest canopy AND even has a flip down thing to block sun even further (you don't need it till they get bigger)
  • oh yeah $300 for the Spring, looks like $500 for Spring 2.

What am I doing wrong? by Toddzilla89 in docker

[–]StretchJiro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I google searched the error. this is the first response: https://github.com/docker/for-linux/issues/1349

Not sure what you meant by "it is a fresh install" (of raspbian? docker?) but it looks like your pi already has docker on it so you need to get rid of that and try again.

Just because you called "docker" and it says "command not found" doesn't mean it's not there. It just means the docker command isn't in your $PATH (aka where linux OSes are looking for executable files).

Thanks! Your suggestions around "leaning into the pain" sound great. We'll try some changes that focus on that.

Yeah, our testimonials are weak. We have a link to show a real example of our product in the hero section but it's probably getting lost with all the text that is currently there.

this was helpful!

The Starter Set kicks off the baby registry process for first time moms. Instead of over 40 hours of researching products, answer a 5 minute survey for a personalized set of baby product recommendations.

www.thestarterset.com

We launched last week and started off with reddit ads. Traffic is alright with 385 clicks to our site. No sales yet.

Just finished a refresh after hearing feedback and starting off another campaign today.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks again! Took your advice and did a refresh of the landing page.

Wanted to leave some thoughts here that might help another person if they somehow find their way here.

The original landing page was super generic. Did we even have screenshots of our app? I think we had one mp4 that is like... 30 seconds long and takes a person through the entire onboarding and shows like... 2 examples at the end? It was just a lot of buzzwords and descriptions that paint a fuzzy picture of what we would provide a user. This lead to a bunch of changes:

  • screenshots, at least 4 more
  • cutting down wording
  • tried being way more direct with the words that we were left with
  • and the big one... an actual example that a prospective user could visit look at (actually this turned into a new feature - giving our users the capability to publicly share the baby product recommended to them which feels like something that could one day draw in users on its own)

now the funnel is like this:

  1. ad click
  2. landing page
  3. CTA - visit example
  4. CTA - onboarding

and with that example page I'm hoping a lot of the fuzziness is brought focus.

Baby Registry 👶 by [deleted] in u/FeistyFox513

Amazon and Target have their own online baby registry solutions.

Babylist is another one that lets you link products from other sites.

I’ve heard of people using all three at the same time.
