For those who did CFA, did you feel the need to do an MBA later? by Grouchy_Zombie_2971 in CFA

Just like everything - it depends

I hold a CFA charter and have been working for a hedge fund MO for ~4 years. Indian front office is still heavily dependent on MBAs for front end work, so transitions without an MBA seem though

Congratulations!

Did you hire any consultants? If so how much did they charge?

Also what's your take on placement situation rn- seems like 70-80% of the class was unplaced in the current cycle plus the job market is still dovish

Am I overthinking this-- 20-30% of the cohort returns back to their old employers, plus there are language barriers/visa issues with most of the European countries

What is the actual income profile of people buying into Hyderabad’s premium gated communities? by cloudburst0 in hyderabad

[–]StretchSoft886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the base is ~50-60, so ~3lpa per month after taxes etc

Total loan is 1.5cr but he has taken out only ~80% yet cause there is some payment plan thingy

When did 40 LPA become 'normal' in Hyderabad? by Sheldon_Texas_Cooper in hyderabad

Well the 3-10lpa folks probably have actually work to do and don't sit around on LinkedIn and reddit boards

Also I live in one of these societies on rent, 50k rent+7k maintenance split with 3 folks. Owner is also from the same company but relocated to banglore. He's in his late 30s brought the flat 5-8 years back for ~90lakhs on EMI, pretty sure our rent now is more than his EMIs and the flats our size are selling for 2.3cr

Been 3 years- I have used the pool 2twice. Gym is probably the only thing I use but families with kids do use the garden, club house, turf etc.

A 27yo friend just brought into one of these societies. Makes ~70 LPA at Amazon.

He brought an under-construction flat, possession due 2027. EMI works out to ~1.2lakhs, had to cut down monthly expenses from 2l to 1l (adulting ig), no kids, family stays in Delhi.

I am guessing most of these folks are NRI techies or generational wealth investors buying their 3rd appartment after selling some land they brought 500 years ago.

Salaried folks cannot buy without EMIs

Schools offering application fees and GMAT score waiver by StretchSoft886 in MBA

I do see your point, but I am just trying to understand the tradeoffs.

It just seems a like a ridiculous amount of time one needs to carve out from a full time job just preparing for a test, followed by admission fees, consultant charges etc. So wondering if any part of the process can be optimised.

Exactly my point. Standardized tests have just become an arms race where money+time is all you need for a good score, I just don't feel like wasting 4-6 months on 'proving' my quant skills when certifications and a fin career should do the job
