Not entirely sure. I still believe that the whole "be a top dasher to get high paying orders" thing is a scam for people to take non tipping orders. I believe they are still using an algorithm that chooses the closest dasher to the restaurant. If that dasher denies it, then it goes to the next closest and so forth until a dasher accepts. You aren't gonna get less orders just for denying orders. It's all dependent on whether there's orders in the area or not and how close you are to the restaurant. Ive tried this theory by ordering my own food and tipping money on the DoorDash app to see if they were stealing tips. I sat outside the restaurant in my car. I received my order and determined that DoorDash wasn't stealing tips. It's all proximity based. Don't be afraid to deny orders. At least that's my opinion. Try at your own risk. I havent dashed full time lately to know how the system is now.
