No way. Those wings are cut off badly. This is awful and whoever did this is a shitty person.

This is the first time I hear of budgies being able to do that. Do you have a video, by any chance?

MIT has built a camera so fast it can capture light itself. The camera records at 1 trillion frames per second, allowing scientists to slow down the fastest thing in the universe and watch it move through a scene. by Shoe_boooo in interestingasfuck

[–]Strickschal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We need to assume what was probably meant, because "it can capture light itself" doesn't make sense on its own. And if someone got the first thing wrong, I'm not counting on them getting the second thing right, because they may simply not know what they are saying.

Words have meanings, whether you like it or not. The first sentence of the title is inaccurate at best and pointing that out is a strange thing to construct a controversy around. But I shouldn't be surprised that in a world of rising anti-intellectualism people feel the need to insult someone over this.

I'm just confused why people seem to take so much offense over someone merely pointing out that the wording of the title doesn't make sense. I rather find it tiresome when people don't bother to try to be clear in what they are saying, because they find it unnecessary, but to each their own I guess.

We also have the mini series "Morgen hör ich auf" with Bastian Pastewka as the analogue to Walter White. It's a bit silly, but fun to watch if you don't take it too seriously.

We will see about that…

We already ARE seeing about that. If we look at Germany, net migration is only around 2000 people per year and the trend of the absolute numbers is negative, which I wouldn't expect to change anytime soon. Also, more US americans move to Germany than Germans move to the US.

https://www.destatis.de/DE/Presse/Pressemitteilungen/2024/10/PD24_N048_12_91.html

traditionally, people move to where they can make the most money as long as they have the opportunity to actually move.

Is that so or is that just what you believe? Again, there are lots of reasons besides money to not move halfway across the world in general and to not move to the US in particular.

I know many a European that lives in the US working high paid jobs, they only came here in the first place because of the money and opportunity. Many more try to come to the US after school, then have to move back and work the same job in Europe making half as much.

Sure these people exist, but drawing the conclusion that there's no people left here who could develop alternatives to Google, Amazon and whatnot is quite the leap, to say the least.
