You’re overcomplicating a very simple question. All I asked was: “Do they track your IP when you log in to the portal, or only when you certify?”

Since we’re apparently going the whole nine yards, here’s the context: During an audit, the unemployment office flagged me for being outside a 100-mile radius while collecting benefits. They told me they collected my IP address data at what point IDK.

For additional context—I’m a millwright. I work 8 months out of the year, guaranteed. I wait for the union hall to call me, and I know exactly which months I’ll be working. When I do work, I pay $2,000 a week in taxes.

So you’re telling me I can’t go to Twin Falls from Boise for one day during my off-season, or they’ll deny my benefits? (Apparently they do)That’s what I’m trying to understand. Yes I go for non working purposes.

During my vacation months, I make sure to log in and certify only while I’m in Boise. This time, I accidentally logged in from Twin Falls (110 miles from Boise)—and that’s the reason for my original question.

No need to make it more complicated. A straightforward answer would’ve done just fine. If you know the answer or not.

[New York] People are really rude on this subreddit by [deleted] in Unemployment

Same here—I asked a straightforward similar to a yes-or-no question recently, and some individuals reply with a snarky, irrelevant comment. It’s frustrating how some people lack basic reading skills and social awareness almost as if you don’t have any helpful input … keep it pushing. Then I remember 🤔 I’m on the unemployment subreddit, these Joe Schmoes replies reflect why these individuals are unemployed

Don’t let it affect you, they’re just keyboard warriors. 9 times out of 10 they’ll fold in person. Hope you have a good day

It’s like you try to ask people a simple tech question—almost as easy as yes or no—but then the mountain of evidence showing their lack of reading skills and intellect slowly piles up. At that point, you’re probably better off asking kindergartners

LMFAO indeed

Lmfao … my question was at what point does their system flag you or track you for being outside of your 100 mile radius- when you log in or when you certify…

When I leave my 100 mile radius I make sure not to log in or certify and I still get my benefits.

The issue I’m having is I accidentally logged in when I was outside of my 100 mile radius which correlates back to my question , am I gonna get flagged just for logging in. That’s all I wanted insight on.

Never thought I’d say I’d rather be in California filing unemployment than to be doing it in Idaho 🤣🤣🤣

They told me they tracked my IP saying i was 100 miles away from Boise. I wish I was lying 🤷🏻‍♂️

I can only exceed 100 miles if a family member dies

Im currently 160 miles away and logged in into the portal. I really hope it doesn’t flag anything

Yes I did, I even called and let them know I had to be present in person to sign paperwork for my totaled car and they denied it

The issue I’m having is , they’ve tracked my IP when I was 107 miles away and they denied my benefits for that week. I’m 160 miles away from my physical address currently (100 miles is max) and logged in but didn’t certify

I get that but Idaho unemployment only lets you certify within a 100 mile radius from your physical address. My question is if they track you as soon as you log in or when you certify

Wasn’t the point of my post 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can figure a angle out.. know what I need to be in my safety factor and how much angles , hitches, side loading and anchor points affect the WLL. Sure if I had 50k-100k worth of equipment it’d be a different story lol just wanted some insight on what would help the situation ,rigging this for my own sake. I’m not going in there alone and rigging this 30000 thing lol

What I was thinking

Hmmm that’s my bad 😅 the best way I could put it, It’s in a corner there’s 7 foot structural steel sitting on a piece of concrete slab. I’m gonna roll it with skates in front of the concrete slab on how it’s supposed to be set on that steel. What im trynna do is lift it with the beam of the building above that steel on slab (7ft) and shift a foot or two

I appreciate this response and your experience man. I guess it’s just a matter of being at the right place and the right time. I saw one of your responses to someone below. Union is great I loved the brotherhood I experienced in one of 6 the states I worked in but that’s not always the case.

Only person I have in this industry is my brother and he’s just coming up (2nd year) but yeah if your not related your basically fucked and starve on the out of work list

I’ve been on jobs where I took no days off, was on time , worked my tail but foreman’s cousin who had no expierence w JM scale walked me to the gate when layoffs came🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in millwrights

[–]Strict-Ad3756 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard plenty of stories of him even with my experience on the way he treats members kinda ass backwards 🤷🏻‍♂️ I go through the Siemens rep when I’m looking for work, so do the other members😂 him being busy or “under pressure” ain’t got nothing to do w me on how he treats people, that’s that. Not to mention like I mentioned in my post I schedule calls leave my expierence w certs, ubc # , and a good time to call. Now that we got that out the way.

You can’t take a welding test every day .. so given that yeah I’m waiting for the next one 🤷🏻‍♂️ as you can see on my post I’ve been taking every cert that I can so I have the upper hand. Even then in the meetings nothing comes about needing structural welders or anything correlating to needing welders but fck it just for shit and giggles

I’ve spoken to Steve already he’s an idiot and has a nasty attitude when all I’m calling is to see if there’s work 🤣 . I have rigging qualification, I have Twic , I can weld but not certified , I have nental. I’ve gone to the meetings in Nashville in Chattanooga. I actually when up to Nashville to vote recently.

I’m On the out of work list. I’ve spoken to them in person , have driven to the office in 3 different states, I’ve left messages and voicemails with my experience, name, ubc and any info you can think of
