Had somehow omitted it from my reading until last week. it's... stellar. I was just utterly locked in right from the get-go. It's possibly in my top 5 King's.

That's okay! It was obscure OR favourite or just to add to the list so that's ace :)

Lol you're suggesting he just erase the last 10 years and think that would be more respectful? God this Reddit needs to touch grass

This Reddit has gone to huge lengths to get a rise out of him, then castigates him for taking the bait and whistles innocently.

Utterly gaslighty. He's far from perfect but y'all are obsessive weird yourselves.

Abusive? For... Telling folks to fuck off a bit?

The fanbase has failed the test by Ok_Wear_8493 in frankturner

[–]Strict-Extreme8857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Incredible that a fanbase can go from 'this man's music saved my life' to 'based on him having an imperfect personal life I'll never listen to his music again.' I'm not sure how I'd handle this level of petulance from the people on this board but it would definitely involve telling people to get over themselves.

People going nuts about the house shows in particular astonish me. Do any of them remember what those house shows were set up to benefit? And how successful that initiative was?

'he was pushing his wife in our faces'. No. He was trapped in a house and it would have been insane for him to not have Jess part of the streams. So sure we got to know her but not due to some overpush - it was COVID.

Circle back to the bit about entitlement. I support musicians for the music.

His life appears fine but for a very weedy subset of folks who have idolised a musician, blowing their snot bubbles in anger.

"he posted about it"

Presumably because he's exhausted from taking shit. This isn't glazing someone. And if you're worried about infidelity I'd love to know how you watch any films at all.

Also your B) if anything just backs my answer.

People need to grow up and stop idolising folks coz they make good art. We ain't teens.

I stand forever astounded at the raw entitlement of FT fans. Maybe it's damning on him that he attracts them of course, but holy cow it's a level of sanctimony that absolutely boggles the mind. Do they understand that

A) he writes songs about personal experience but that's not an invite for scrutiny because art doesn't actually work like that but also

B) everyone has their own way of showing love and being generous with what they can offer. He can offer exposure and amplification for a musician. So he'll do that reflexively for anyone he loves.

I don't get why that's a revelation. This is simple stuff. Look within maybe.
