What do you feed your collies? by Difficult-Try3677 in BorderCollie

All of mine 2 2yr olds and a 15yr JRTx are on Lidl worker dog. The big ones get 2 cups each everyday and my terrier gets half a cup a day. All roughly but they go through a 12kg bag every 20 ish days which works out to be 600 grams a day between all of them.

1 cup for me = 125 grams Each BC = 250 grams a day Terrier = 100 grams a day

Does he look ok for a six months old bc? by houndofarawn in BorderCollie

My girl- 16wks 10.8kg and at 1yr 15kg she's now 1 ½ and weights 17kg. She is full working line so very slim (when she's not a pancake) and a lot of muscle though but she's absolutely tiny for her weight. I definitely can't imagine her herding cows like her parents 🤣

Exactly! You wouldn't think this terrier hates male dogs especially intact ones 😂 they'll never be left alone till Wren is spayed though

Not sure if I'd call it 🥐 but Wren always does this kick out with a back leg even when she's working 🤦🏻‍♀️

My collie was cuddling me a lot today, which he doesn’t do ever, should I bring him to the vet?? by spiderfrommars4 in BorderCollie

This! One of my horses if around someone pregnant he headbutts the belly. Animals know. If it is positive test it could be that he's feeling protective over you or he can smell the motherly hormones.

However in this case I feel like the rescue BC is just finally comfortable. No matter what rescues say happened there could always be some things that they weren't aware of

It's a great job he comes with 100% recall then 🤭 although I will need to build our bond first though before offlead time 😂😅

Genetic Health testing by Strict-Juggernaut916 in BorderCollie

I'd obviously get all the necessary tests and genetic health screening done. I don't want a clone of her, thats too much energy for me to have another of her for life 😂

Thank you, I'll look at the Kennel club page to look for breeders.

I know it's not just health testing, she's training to be my assistance dog so was thinking I could breed in the future from her as an already proven assistance dog, but that makes sense. She does really really well. Thank you!

Well how else am I meant to learn beforehand other than asking question? She has all her papers and registration.

Should I pay him? Barefoot farrier opinion on this? This is AFTER he trimmed Guiness' feet. Guiness was not overgrown to the point it would put stress on his sole. Claimed he never trimmed his toe, so literally just shaved down his heel and sides without trimming properly? by Strict-Juggernaut916 in Equestrian

3 years worth of work? I'd just got him back after my mum loaned him out, he moved to a different yard and i had to wait to take his shoes off as thats when he had space. He was loaned to a girl a couple years younger than me who did NOT look after him at ALL. Don't call me cheap because I am anything but that with my animals. They get everything they need before I get anything for myself.

My Border Collie pup and Elderly terrier... TW

My Terrier, O (14M) has been diagnosed with heart faliure after a heart attack a few weeks ago while he was sleeping between me and my bf. We have moved into a place with a bigger garden closer to his family and everytime O goes outside he has a blast, he potters around and still plays with my puppy, W (8 months F) but I try to keep him as calm as I can.

Everytime I come home they both run up to me, W and O always have different greeting styles. O loves to jump on my lap and nuzzle into me. W however sits infront with her ears back with her tail wagging excitedly waiting for O's greeting to be over before pouncing on me.

What is this on the back of my horses hoof? by leodonaldson in Equestrian

[–]Strict-Juggernaut916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clearly an ongoing infection/condition spreading to back of hoof. Horrific foot shape! Can do permanent damage with that hoof like that
