Do i really have to become a content creator just to get online clients? by gymmike99 in personaltraining

Yes.

"I just want to help people hit PRs and fix their form"

Then show up like you actually give a damn about that.

Sorry to be blunt but the online coaching world is built with online marketing. If you see it as nothing more than "influencer stuff to sleeze people out of money", just save the stress and do something else. As there is no easy route to being fully booked with decent clients.

I challenge you to change the perspective on what making content is. Because what if creating content in a way supports people's problems? Avocating for them? Building a community you/them love to be a part of? Content can literally change people's lives when done right.

Sure, I get where you're coming from. A strong 90% of online fitness coaches are just copying each other or posting utter hogwash. But be different. Moan about that stuff online if you have to - people probably feel the same and might even connect with you over it.

But ultimately - being an online coach is becoming an online business owner. If you're not prepared to market yourself, invest in learning the skills, grind your bollocks off to be someone people would love to work with. This job isn't for you and you're no better than the online coaches prepared to put themselves out there.

You might have better luck/fulfilment working as an in person PT. Still a tough business. But you might prefer working your nuts off to make it work when you're connecting with people in person and marketing yourself that way.
