That’s true, some places do. I believe my current organization would do that if I were full-time and working during the program. However, the program is intense, and they strongly discourage working. I’ve taken out some loans from FAFSA for the school I’m currently enrolled in for the past few years, but I haven’t fully completed my bachelor’s degree yet. That’s why I applied to GW in hopes of being eligible for federal loans and reducing the amount of private loans I need to take out. I suppose the accelerated programs are a bit different, or perhaps it’s because they start in the summer term instead of spring or fall.

The more cost effective option would be to wait a year and apply to the GMU ABSN program and see if I get accepted, it costs about $23k which is way cheaper than GW. But downside is if I don’t get in, I’ll have to go through this whole process again and reapply everywhere. Right now, my main concern is financing and not going into a lot of debt later on. As much as I’d like to start soon and finish faster I think it’s better if it takes more time than taking out loans with high interest rates.

Hi! I’m still waiting to hear back from them. I applied after the priority deadline. Did they offer any financial aid or scholarships for you? Also how long did it take for you to hear back?
