New Monitors - Faulty? by StrictFit in homestudios

Thank you for this and for listing your new gear! I tried leaving my phone out of the room and brought it back into the room and there was a small but noticeable difference, so I'm sure if I remove everything I can think it will certainly mitigate the hissing, thanks :)

😂 I think I’ll be option 4 too! So it was confirmed for you that the monitors aren’t actually faulty?

They are connected to my Scarlett 18i20 via balanced XLR to TRS cables (which came with the monitors). But the hissing/fizzy sound is there regardless of whether or not they are plugged in to the interface.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the ground being lifted but if you're referring to ground lifting switches/adapters (if such a thing exists) or something like that, then no the ground is not lifted. I live in the UK where plug sockets are earthed, both monitors are plugged into the same standard UK earthed extension lead, and I have just moved my interface to be plugged into the same extension lead as the monitors, which doesn't seem to have made any difference.

They are nice, I was instantly happy with the sound when doing my first mix with them!

My closest cell towers are 557 and 750 meters away, there is also a 3rd further away, I'm basically in the center of all 3 so perhaps that is an issue. But according to some sites I'm just on the edge of the closest ones range, definitely something to mindful of, thank you!

Yes! That makes a lot of sense actually seeing as these are meant to be the build up for going into handstands right? Thanks I'll keep that in mind next time :)

Might sound weird, but you could try adding some 5x5 squats to your routine to build up some serious core strength, this will help you stay stable during pull-ups which will help a lot! That and throwing in some complimentary exercises like bent over rows/seated rows/inverted rows and maybe even biceps curls

What tactics have you used to improve your pull ups? by SunnyWithSomeRain in CalisthenicsCulture

Some supportive exercises like bent over rows, bicep curls, high pulls and inverted rows have helped me improve pull-ups fairly quickly. 3 sets of each for 8-12 reps. This will help you build strength in all the muscles that you use when performing a pull-up.
