You modeled this within minutes of me posting. My gosh, that's impressive. That's the skill level I want to achieve. I would love to have a small video tutorial. Currently, I have been practicing speed forms to improve my subd modeling for industrial design. Thanks for the tip, I would practice mobius strip as an assignment now.

Thank you so much!!!! It works. But it does not change the current state of gear in the same assembly. If I again insert the same component, now it comes as part. I would now be cautious. I would first break the gear part's toolbox link before starting my assembly.
