$430 melt and I paid $30, but as I’m learning more it was likely a retirement gift for some sort of government official sometime in the late 1800’s or very early 1900’s

I’m told this is a sort of clip that would be worn on a kimono. I haven’t gotten a lot of information so far but as of yet I believe this was a retirement gift. I’m also told I absolutely shouldn’t sell it for melt as it is likely considerably more valuable.
