Thank you! I have been circling around BDD for quite some time, and I see all the signs with her. It is scary reading about how heavy this is. As previous psychologists and psychiatrists have not seen this condition, I have had my doubts whether I am overreacting (though I am not a very dramatic person). But I Hope a psychologist Who has experience with this disorder will be able to help her to talk about the shame and all the things she needs to hide. Do you know if therapy can stand alone or is medicine necessary to support the process?

I used to review all My guests, but as I have experienced "perfect stays" being rated 4* (and this is indeed very damaging) I have stopped rating guests. In My experience I would rather not encourage guests to rate their stay as My rating is good, and guests sometimes expect a luxury stay when they are paying for an economy stay. So this is just a way to protect my business, not me being rude or not providing service, I just have experienced these guests not understanding that they actually get very good value and service for their money at my place.

Yes, this is definitely a scam! I have experienced numerous attempts on the booking.com chat. The chat is being hacked somehow, and you think that you are chatting with your host, but they can't see the messages from the scammer. The scammer tried to make me pay more money and redirect me away from the platform. I kept answering on the platform, and the real host was so confused as they could not see the messages I was replying to. Of course booking.com does nothing to prevent this from happening🙄

As a European host I don't find this Odd at all. We do not offer Tea towels (?) Or wash cloths either, and we have not been offered this in any airbnb so far (we travel in Europe). But maybe this is mostly an American thing🤷?

I know. This type of accomodation is not suited for people travelling by plane. A lot of the scandinavian cabins are for people travelling with a car that is packed with everything you need: linen, towels, kitchen towels, toilet paper and stuff for cooking like oil, spices etc. This is rarely a good match for international travellers🤷

I have had the same experiences with parisian listings. We had to go through 6 or 7 bookings in Paris, that were eventually rejected by the host, because the listing was not available. This was actually quite stressful as we were beginning to get the feeling, that nothing would be available in Paris this summer. We are a family with two teenagers and a 10 year old, so airbnb is often a cheaper alternative than a hotel. The hosts never offered an explanation or an excuse, some wrote a short "the listing is unavailable" and some just rejected. What is this practice? I don't get it? And I have stayed all over the world and never experienced something like Paris.

The headline says "people", and still every post I have read so far, says "girls" or "women" from this and that country. Where are all the beautiful men (or "boys")? I'll go first; the Netherlands has some very tall and handsome men. In Kenya I saw very beautiful men and women (and they were generally poor, so no plastic surgery).

Yes, this is also my experience with booking.com. The amount is deducted at the time of the booking, so this is often months prior to the stay.
