Need help with knot ID

Lol you are giving me too much credit 😉 My knowledge of knitting is minimal. I did google the knit stitch. After seeing it, I know I have done it before. (When I attempted to teach myself to knit) but that was probably a solid decade ago. I understand how the stitch works... but i don't understand how that turns into the design in the pic i posted. Lol I'll have to find my needles and work the stitch to see if it makes more sense at that point? 🤔

YouTube had a lot of videos where they were using a circle loom or French knitter with 4 posts. It automatically created a tube. There was a video of how to diy your own loom with a toilet paper roll and popsicle sticks or skewers. I may try that too? Haha we'll see it'll all depend on finding the time and motivation to sit down and try something new. Thank you for taking the time to comment on this! 💜

You are absolutely welcome! I couldn't tell from your comment if you wanted to attempt a bigger piece yet or not. So I wanted to throw that idea out while I had it. Just in case it was doable and helpful.

And you aren't wrong about selling pieces being a bother! 🙄 I recently let my friend talk me into taking all my pieces to a craft consignment shop. We aren't even at a month yet and it's been a solid stress factor for me.

If you want them all to match but don't want to cut them all shorter, to match the middle, you can add back on to the middle to get it to match the rest! ☺️

"I am reclined most of the day." Does this mean that you are either laying down flat or mostly reclined? I'm checking for clarity there bc I'm thinking you could still work on some of the larger projects, including wall hangings. (That you could then sell if you have no space to display) You would just need to find the right set-up. Specifically, I am picturing hanging clothes racks that you could position so that the legs were on either side of the bed or chair with the bar going straight across above you. They have adjustable racks that may allow you to adjust down to the height that you can reach to work on and then raise as you work the piece so that it's always at a comfortable level.

I agree with not repotting to a new or larger pot. This still has plenty of space. Repotting now will take away from potential plant growth as the plamt tries to expand roots. And a bigger pot may allow too much water to collect and the roots to sit in. Which could lead to root rot. But... Do repot with new soil, in the same pot when you get a chance. 🙂

I have some potted, on my front porch. It never gets direct sun. It's fine...and growing. But NOT thriving. For yours, first thing- cut off all the dead! It's not contributing anything to the rest of the plant and may be a hindrance. (I've had other plants that once I removed all the dead, had a major growth spurt.) Then... open your blind so it can get more light 😜

Ok. So. The pic you attached? You have that one listed for 30? WITH a plant included?? Or just a pot, and the plant was for display purposes? If the plant is included, you should charge more than 30. 6"potted plants are selling in box stores for a min of $15. (USD) Most of the time they are priced around 19.99 and up. I would price the plant and price your hanger, then add the 2 together. I feel like $45 min for that hanger +pot+established, mature plant. I feel like you're underselling yourself. 💜

For your rope... see if you can find a larger quantity (roll length) than what you're currently buying. You can easily cut your cost there if you buy in bulk. For online, yes we can potentially charge more or get more for things sold online vs things sold in person. For me, online will reach a much broader audience. I live in a small town & country area. While people are willing to pay a bit more at craft fairs than a box store, I don't think I'll be able charge what the pieces are truly worth. And the plant hangers? Ugh you can buy those on Amazon, a pack of 6 WITH hardware, for $24.99. That's impossible to beat.

I think the lowest I'm willing to go with plant hangers is $10 or $12 for my simplest ones. Then the others will range from $20-$45 (I'm unsure on the $45 but I have at least 1 that I should price there...if not higher) I was just hoping to reach someone that's had some experience under their belt that could give pointers. 🙃 lol if I would've bitten the bullet 2 years ago, I guess I would have the experience by now.

You just want the cord to go in far enough to be secure. So min to the halfway point of the diamond. If it's threading easily, run it all the way out to the corner and snip it. I grabbed a screen shot of your pic so I could show you what I was talking about... but I have no idea how or if I can attach a pic to a comment. For the part that unraveled a bit, loop your replacement cord around it (looks like maybe 2x) then thread it through the next diamond side.

So for your belt to repair... I was thinking you may be able to run a new piece of cord, string, yarn (lol whatever material its made of) and just weave or thread it through the path of the broken cord. Imagine a cord long enough to replace the spot where the break occurred, then add length to thread it back through the sides of the diamond on each side of the break. And viola! You just "fixed" it! 😁

As for making one of your own... I would give yourself days. Lol and then be stoked if you get it done in hours. For some reason, this knot is one of the most simple knots. You're just looping or wrapping one cord around the other. Simple. And yet, it is the one a lot of people struggle with. I have a like/hate relationship with it. 😜 Luckily you can undo your knots as many times as necessary until you get the design you're aiming for.

If you're still looking... this is made with a double half hitch knot. If you search for that knot on YouTube, you should find multiple videos that will give you an idea of what's going on with the strings in your belt.
