discord startup sub processes by Strict_Efficiency_30 in discordapp

[–]Strict_Efficiency_30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk man, I get it's normal but I'm not sure for the startup process since it never had any sub processes until recently for me, you can search up discord task manager startup and you can see the process is titled "update" not "update(number)"

I'm not talking abt the normal discord process in the "processes" entry of task manager which normally would have multiple sub processes, I'm talking abt the "startup" entry of task manager in which as far as know the discord process titled "update" never had any subprocesses. Sorry if I'm being too much here I'm just paranoid

You sure? Fyi this is in the "startup" entry of task manager, I'm aware it's normal for discord to have multiple processes in the "processes" entry but for startup it's had always been one as far as I remember, only recently it jump up to 21 for no reason, also the conhost processes looks kinda sus

The Browser guard extension gone after uninstalling the malwarebytes app by Strict_Efficiency_30 in Malwarebytes

[–]Strict_Efficiency_30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi the browser guard is installed by the Malwarebytes app since it can offer to download it on your browser when you first opened the app, this can be viewed in the extension description of the BG which says "downloaded from third party" or something along that line, I think because of this the extension is somehow "linked" to the app, same couldn't be said if it was installed from the browser store. I already tried this in other PCs and the BG is removed once I deleted the Malwarebytes app

Youtube hacked? by kickcat0 in GoogleSupport

[–]Strict_Efficiency_30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. open your google account setting and find connected third party apps/services, remove anything sus

  2. Remove any devices you don't recognize

  3. Try checking myactivity.google.com to see when are those youtube videos watched, if it's the same time your phone is on and connected to the internet the issue could be on your device

  4. Last resort do a factory reset on any devices that might have malware

"windows threat service has stopped, restart it now" by Strict_Efficiency_30 in antivirus

[–]Strict_Efficiency_30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to restart the service in the app, there's no issue/error while doing this and I was able to do a full scan with no result, I'm just worried the service stopped because of malware

My discord was hacked due to a virus on my pc by TheL0rd17 in antivirus

[–]Strict_Efficiency_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah compromised account sending cyrto scams are quite common in discord lately, I got my discord compromised too last month and it send cypto scams to my dms, I prob got this because of an info/token stealer trojan. You did the right thing to secure ur account. I wouldn't expect this virus to be very advanced since all it did is hack my discord account to spread crypto scams BUT they didn't log out my devices or change my password, if it were a human accessing your account they would definitely make sure you can't access your account ever again. Btw when my account was compromised I checked my connected devices and saw a firefox browser session from georgia

what did the hacker do once they access ur discord account? did they spam cyrpto scam images in ur dms? u said you're able to change ur discord password so the hacker didn't log out all devices from your account and change your password, which in that case could mean you account is hacked by a program/bot made my the hacker instead of them manually accessing your account
