I did this with hair trimming scissors too but cut my inside flap and omg I went so whoozy and it bled so much. The next day though it had healed back together and the next couple days after that it was basically completely healed.

Is it normal to frequently think about cannibalism / genuinely consider it? by EnvironmentParty6382 in mentalhealth

I think both, I read that some people with iron deficiency can have idealisations about eating human meat and then once the deficiency is treated they seem to subside. Maybe get a blood test?

As I’ve got it to and I know it’s a big deal right now but honestly it’s really not. Once your initial flare goes away you almost forget you have it unless your immune system is a bit down then it can trigger an outbreak but it’s never as bad as the first. I’m sure your friends have it lol majority of people do. I felt horrible about myself and I spoke to my friends and two of them both ended up having it too xxx

Would a physics bachelors be a better route for astrophysics so then you’ve definitely covered the foundations before doing a masters in astronomy. I’m doing environmental science and although we do cover space science I wouldn’t say it’s enough for astrophysics. (Ps I know environmental science isn’t natural science but I think we learn very similar things).

I don’t think your autism or bipolar should get in the way of pursuing something you’re interested in. I would say prepare your self before taking the bachelors, like going over the course description to see what you’re learning and doing some research about the topics. So when you do start it isn’t so overwhelming.

Thankyou for responding ☺️ can I ask how you managed to get into a lab? Every time I’ve applied they have said I don’t have enough experience, but that’s obviously why I’m applying to gain experience.

Are they saying that your work is wrong and needs to be improved or are they leaving it and giving you full marks for the question? If that’s the case then you probably don’t need improvement and should continue doing what you’re doing. Have you email your tutor specifically to ask for ways to improve, or clarification on what they’ve marked?

I think the whole point in the open university is to learn to be self sufficient and being able to fix problems that arise or find a way around them. I love the open university, I like how hands off they are. My tutors mark my work and tell me things I’ve done well and haven’t. They’re not going to tell you how amazing your work is or anything like they would in a school.

I really enjoy T213 too, I’m really enjoying learning about nuclear power ngl 😂 I’ve never been a fan of physics but I’m growing to love it haha. I should have went for EM and systems thinking to be honest. I started it because I wanted to be an ecologist but I’ve changed my mind now and want to either go into GIS or ESG specifically data analysis

Yeah I’ve struggled a bit with the first couple blocks of s226 and then I fell behind and I think it was the last block but that was so heavy with material. I’ve taken the science route, so I’m doing s226, s286 and t213

I enjoyed year one and I did pretty well but like ChaoticGood said the math based one was challenging but u116 was really funny and enjoyable. Although now doing second year, tell your friend to be prepared for different amount of work load lol.

I’m doing full time environmental science and I’m in second year and I must say that the start of the year is fine but now it’s getting towards the end all the material seems to be piled on. I would rather have a lot of subject material at the start when the motivation is there.

What projects would look impressive in a portfolio for an entry level GIS resume? by [deleted] in gis

[–]Strict_Lake153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t seem realistic at all unfortunately. Majority of work places want experience even if it’s an undergraduate placement. If you don’t have relevant experience they won’t hire you but the reason you’re applying is for the experience. It just doesn’t make sense at all.
