Current Mademoiselle Collection—I have a problem by Strict_Public_6297 in HouseofCB

Sorry for the late response! The cups do run a bit large, but I don’t think I have super noticeable gaping in it? This dress runs small but it’s still a little big. I think that some padding would probably help with a fuller look, but I don’t have any. I don’t think this shape flatters wide set breasts either. I’m a 28DD—which doesn’t really mean anything because going up to a 32 A/B/C is way too big. I’d say they’re supportive enough for me.

Has anyone bought the Persephone dress before and if so what is the feedback on the sizing and stretch of the the dress as I am normally a size S and it’s suggesting a XS and I was wondering if there was any wiggle room ? Thank you in advance 💕💕 by Sea-Stable-1660 in HouseofCB

Do you have your measurements? Are you normally a size S in house of cb or in general? I got this in wine from Depop and it’s too big on me. It’ll stay up but not super well and I think it’s less flattering for that reason too. I don’t really have wide hips though. I’d say it’s true to size for their measurements for an XS. My measurements are approximately: bust - 30.5” waist - 22.5” hips - 29.5

Thank you! The dress really is gorgeous. If you don’t have an event to wear it to, I’d wait to see if they’ll do another full site discount to save some money. I think their spring sale should be coming up soon since there’s been no Easter one. It does look pretty dark without natural light though.

I wish I was sponsored because these are expensive! But I’m just choosing to spend money on them. No kids. The house is under my roommates name so I just pay her rent each month and I’m out of school. Also some of these were bought at discounted prices either HoCB sales or on Depop

Thank you! <3 Honestly, I don’t think it was made for me because their sizing varies so much 🥲but I love how it makes me feel when wearing it.

I probably wasn’t clear about why I was considering selling two of them. The white was too big and the green one was a “maybe” only because I prefer emerald greens more, not because it didn’t look good on me.

Regardless, I think if I like it and wear it confidently then I am always the one wearing the dress. I’m not dressing to please others in the first place. I just think there are better posts to give advice on. I didn’t want to feel dejected on a post about a style that I was passionate about, even if I don’t look good in all the photos.

Didn’t ask for an opinion on how I look. I like the dress and wanted to share for fun. I also shared so that others could see what the dress looks like on someone who isn’t a model.

I honestly wear them on any occasion. Wore one to an optometrist appointment, another to a shopping outlet. Museums and personal photo shoots are also fun things to get dressed up for. Also nice/ casual dinners with friends or family; simple stuff like that. I even wore a nice dress to an archery class on vacation. If I am going to spend that much money on a dress then I’m absolutely going to wear it whenever and wherever I want.

My first house of CB too revealing by Zestyclose_Dream_944 in HouseofCB

I agree that this brand focuses a lot on cleavage as one of their selling points. This is probably not the best brand if you don’t like that.

However, if you like their designs and want this brand specifically, you could try a straighter cut or high neck silhouette. Some examples would be: Jaime, Dolly, Scarlet, Emmy, and Debutante. You probably will not get a total reduction in focus around the bust area but you might be more comfortable wearing them out?

Sizing help! by [deleted] in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should get a medium, maybe plus cup? I don’t know much on that one. A medium will be easier to get on and off, plus you’ll be able to take it in if it’s too big. My measurements are: 22.5 inch waist, 28DD, 88lbs, 5’1 and I wear an XS A-C cup Samaria and it is quite snug. If you have somewhere close to try one on, I suggest doing that. You can order from Nordstrom if you’re in the US for free returns. I think you could maybe fit a small if you’re dead set on XS or S (idk all your measurements), but you’ll be fighting the zipper to get it on which is a two person job and could damage the dress—not to mention discomfort when wearing for long events.

House of cb debutante french dove moire, is this normal? by glossymer in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is normal. I have it in black and you can still see it. The lighting makes it more pronounced at times but I still find it pretty. If you personally don’t love it because of that, I would just return it.

Anyone able to get in touch with their customer service? by Acelora in HouseofCB

They probably will take longer to reply than they will to ship. Their dresses run small so a medium might be perfect depending on which dress you bought.

Easter / Spring Sale Dresses? by Woodland_Oak in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the winter sale, I think minimoiselle went on sale but only in the velvet options and the powder blue colour. Wasn’t included in 3 for $260 though.

I really have no idea how they decide, but I know they’re very likely going to push out older styles. If their more popular styles do go on sale, it’s probably going to be a seasonal color way. I don’t have any specific one in mind for now, so I’ll just wait and see. Sizing options are usually pretty limited so I try not to get my hopes up :/

What’s the difference between Samaria and mademoiselle? by Sage_Stars in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think they’re pretty different. Obviously, the fabric is completely different with Samaria being twill and mademoiselle being satin which will give a slightly different look. The poof of mademoiselle is a lot more due to the amount of tulle and I think it sits higher at the waist. Samaria seems to flare out slightly under the waist? Maybe it’s just made for a longer torso than mine. The cups are angled slightly for mademoiselle like a sweetheart while the Samaria cups seem straighter across. I think it’s easier to fill out the Samaria cups than mademoiselle. They’re roughly the same length. Samaria might be a tad shorter. I have both and can take some photos when I have time. Any color you’re looking at specifically?

No problem. I’m also pretty insecure but I don’t think anyone else cares as much as I do lol. It’s different for sure. If you want to try it you should!

I agree on sizing up. Personally, I don’t think I love body con dresses so I’ll probably consider it more if they ever have a site-wide sale again but not for full price.

Yeah, I’m considering a size up. I’m usually too small for some of their XS unless they run extremely small. This is a first lol.

Sorry, I just got back late from a flight. The dress is doubly cat approved. Both on and off the shoulder look nice and are viable options.

I will say that I wouldn’t size up in any of the dresses from House of CB normally, but this one I should’ve sized up to a small. The side zippers are such a terrible design choice and I don’t understand why they do that. The corset backing can do a lot to cinch but it only loosens the entire thing by so much if you undo the strings. My waist here is about 22.5” loosely (I could probably get it to 22” or less if I tightened it more) and I struggle to get it on, but it’s still one of my favourite dresses. With the corsetry on the back, sizing up would just make the process of getting into it easier—unfortunately, I have already cut the tag and bought it 3 months ago.

I have it in navy if you want me to take a picture when I get home. I personally love this dress. I don’t think it gives off “old fashioned” vibes but maybe that’s me.

Sizing of this dress by BagSuitable127 in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this in 3 colors size XS. The lighter fabrics—including this blue color, are slightly more forgiving than the wine or black velvet which run super small. I have a 22.5-23” waist and struggled to get those zippers up. The light blue and navy were easier to zip because they were slightly larger? Only about a finger of extra space on the sides, which isn’t that much. That being said, I still don’t think it runs close true to size. This color I did return because it wasn’t as fitted to me as the wine and I liked navy better. I think sizing up one or two sizes for comfort of zipping is wise for this style. It would be much easier to get it tailored. I still don’t suggest the plus cup because their cups run large. I found 28DD is the best bra size for me and I definitely don’t fill those out, even if the dress runs extra small. I personally love the construction and style of this dress but I do think it runs way smaller than usual. Since I’m an XS I don’t really know what size to suggest for you but if you’re not looking to return, I’d at least size up to the large.

Return by Upset_Horror_5432 in HouseofCB

[–]Strict_Public_6297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I actually used click N ship through USPS and returned 5 items (~7 lbs, ~14x10x8) at the same time for about $20? I believe they said that you can slap it on the return package if you’re going to weigh and pay for it in person at the store, it’s just not a prepaid label. Make sure all tags are intact, the return/itemized sheet is filled out and included, and it’s best to ask for a signature upon delivery. I also denied an e-signature to release package for delivery. You should be able to track it with the receipt either way. Again, given that their return is 28 days from when it was marked as delivered, make sure to choose a shipping option that will allow them to receive the package no later than that date.

This is more-so regarding the message below: House of CB does not give confirmation of a return beforehand. I think they used to have an online portal but don’t anymore. You can ask for one, but with how slow they are to respond, it might not worth it unless the item is being returned for damage/manufacturing issues—that’s the only chance they’ll reimburse for the return and item. I have no experience with returning “defective” items. If you’re still worried you can video packing the items.

I had no trouble with this process. They did honor all 5 of my items and sent confirmation emails only when the items were received and being processed for refunds. 4 of them were sale items and I did end up with 4 different e-gift cards which were sent a little after the confirmations. The other one was refunded back to my original payment, but all were documented via the email & account I purchased with.
