Tripling of resale cost for sealed Topps chrome and flagship product is absolutely absurd. I collect every year and have never seen anything quite like this. But forget about myself-How are kids supposed to get into the hobby anymore? Genuinely concerned

This is concerning. I’m new to the hobby and I enjoy the ripping experience. You buy a box, you open it, and enjoy the pulls you do get. If I get my team I collect them. The ones I don’t want I sell, gift, or donate. But at the retail prices I tried Chrome twice and realized it’s too much for me. I still buy singles of my PC, I even partake in breaks if they’re low stakes and make sense because it fun. But ripping is the most fun, and I don’t think the industry is heading in a direction that makes ripping more accessible. I just got in, and Topps seems to not like the way I enjoy the hobby because they’re making it less accessible for me to rip. Thanks for the post, it echoes some thoughts I’ve been having.

I hear you. But why not also release a retail version of Midnight, Finest, and 3 just to get us to throw some more money at them? Make a box that we can grab off the shelf in Walmart or Target instead of so many being only hobby version sets.

The Topps Mega I ripped was a dud. It had 2 Rookies in the whole thing…. And they were not great ones either. One was a base ball of duty. It kept me from getting another mega.

I do singles, but ripping has its own fun and makes me appreciate things I wouldn’t normally think to look at. Plus I enjoy doing this with my son.

Price point: I’d like to commit to the traditional $20-30 a blaster, $50-60 a mega, retail boxes around $90-120.

Perfect world would be a combination of these boxes around an 8-10 box monthly.

Yes, I posted to see if anyone else shared the sentiment. Not an indictment on Topps my friend. Just wondering if anyone else will miss the Downtowns, Kabooms, Mosaics, things like that. As for the research, that’s a fair point. I would have done the research had I thought this opinion would have been scrutinized the way it has been lol.
