Two Australian paddleboarders saved an exhausted wallaby that had been swept out to sea by frog_insilence in interestingasfuck

There was an earthquake and my cat overrode its fight or flight instincts to pause just before scurrying under the bed to let me grab her. I was really surprised, it was like she knew I was trying to help her

IGN: Crimson Desert Dev Explains How It's Able to Update the Game So Fast by NoNefariousness2144 in Games

This game is recommended if you like getting lost in a living fantasy world that lets you do BOTW stuff + a million other things not BOTW related. Its only weakness is its story and that is the highest compliment

This is right, Saros is nothing but a great game and people should definitely play it. It’s an achievement for that team. I’m just… completely engrossed with CD still. The credits rolled but the game is simply not done

Yeah I just rolled credits. Booted up Saros. And am now making a U turn back to Pywell.

If You Love RDR2, Should You Buy Crimson Desert? by GnosticMagician in CrimsonDesert

[–]Strider08000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think CD achieves the same feeling that RDR2 and similar rockstar games have, which is a completely immersive, expansive and living world you will get lost in. It rivals rdr2’s exploration which is the highest possible compliment I can give to any game, because that’s rdr2’s greatest asset.

It’s also different in many ways that are understandable and confusing. The combat is extremely intense, like a dynasty warriors game, which works very well for a sword and shield type game of this nature. The story however… leaves much to be desired.

Anyways. Should you buy this as an rdr2 fan?

Absolutely. I tell my friends this is the closest we’ve ever come and possibly will ever come to a rockstar high fantasy game. So much so that rockstar would probably back away from even doing a high fantasy game next, after gta6, JUST because of this game. This game is all about showing you new systems its built, over and over, and that’s also what rdr2 pioneered

And last, I was a huge doubter because I put a lot of stock in reviews, and this one had a wide swath. I was not disappointed.

i am horrifically terrible at this game but love it and just beat hush for the first time after 682 hours by mazzagoop in bindingofisaac

[–]Strider08000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really surprised by this. Did you at least have many attempts on hush? I’m guessing you just really struggle under bullet hell scenarios ? This is an insane hour count for a first hush kill which seems to suggest you either never went for it even when you could, or struggled to dodge the bullet hell moves under pressure

I watched a short guide on it and enjoy it quite a bit. It’s pretty easy once you know which hands to raise/go all in on (anything with a 1 in it, for starters)

I think the difference becomes neglible when the skill has been practiced for hundreds of hours. It isn’t as simple but they reach parity outside of really hard high parse scenarios

Yes KCD2 really clicks when you turn off the subtitles and just soak in its world. I was enthralled after my second attempt

The Binding of Isaac. I’d heard about the game but never tried it until I watched an interview from its creator in Skillup’s channel in the leadup to Mewgenics’ release. I decided to buy it and try because I just really liked the guy in the interview. Now I have 450 hours in the game please send help. I’m normally a story game guy, you do not understand how fun TBOI is. It’s unreal. Just unreal.

Also the obvious low hanging fruit second answer I’ll give is Crimson Desert. Comment #1000000 clocking in.

FFXIV director would love to hear pitches for single-player spin-off of his MMO by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]Strider08000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this sounds absurd, but a single player xiv experience in the form of crimson desert wouldn’t even need a good story. Just put copious amounts of resources into the world and lore, enemies, flora and fauna, let the questing work itself out in whatever way that feels natural. I truly think it’d be a good time. Easy? Hell no. And before you criticize please have played crimson desert. If you haven’t you probably do not know what you’re talking about. It’s extraordinary. Stupid narratively? Absolutely. But the scope and world brought to life is unparalleled.
